Walking past this small, fresh & light filled restaurant with a sushi train in the middle & small tables around, you might miss it. But it is definitely a place not to be missed. There is a good selection of plates if you choose to dine along the sushi train bar & just as many delicious sounding dishes from the a la carte menu which offers traditional dishes as well as more modern takes of classics. The sashimi platter was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate with the deluxe platter made up of 5 different types of fish, scallops & an oyster with ponzu sauce. It was fresh & a great testiment of what's to come. The tempura & sauce was again perfect. Lightly coated & crunchy, the mixed platter consisted of various vegetables, prawns & fish pieces. Then there is the wagyu steak with amiyaki sauce. This was the highlight as the beef was tender, juicy, rich from the fat marbled through it and the 2 accompanying sauces - one savoury & one creamy provided good contrast. It was served with a baked potato, unusual maybe but it works especially when broken up and eaten with the sour cream & accompanying 2 sauces. There is a selection of delectably looking maki rolls which I will have to try next time but did try a couple of plates of sushi from the train, which were good but not as special as the other dishes ordered. When its busy, service can be a little slow which is forgiven with great food. Its also BYO wine so bring a couple and enjoy it with the great range of delicious dishes on offer. It was such a pleasent surprise to find a restaurant of this quality & at reasonable prices. Can't wait to return.

Wow this place exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was lovely and intimate with only 8 people all together. The chef makes whatever they feel like using the most fresh ingredients. You sit up at the bar/bench top so you get to see what they are making. Every dish was unique and had the most amazing flavours. By the end we were very full so it's not only amazing quality ingredients but you will be full by the end. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the chef was happy to talk to us throughout when he had a break between dishes. They are fully licensed so you can get some lovely sake to go with the meal. We brought our own sake, you just need to pay corkage which we didn't mind at all. We will definitely be back!

Hidden gem! Food was amazingly good and Simon was nice to chat with. Entrees were well decorated with high quality ingredients, loved the black cod, leaner than toothfish which is been used for a lot of Japanese restaurants. The wagyu was a big plus, grilled to perfection. Nine pieces of nigiri were not enough! Rice could use a little more vinegar but that’s my own preference. Tamago was salty but that’s minor issue to me. Overall great experience and the best omakase in Sydney on that price range.

Bunch of hair in the roll! We’ve dined in and take away few times and everything was fine. Today, while eating at home take away order, we’ve noticed disgusting, large bunch of hair in Philadelphia roll. Hair were inside the roll and outside, I feel nausea writing it down. The restaurant apologised and refunded our order, but did not called manager when asked to. This should not be happening. What conditions was the roll made in? Looked like on the floor. My entire evening is ruined, both with my husband are disgusted and I still feel hair in my mouth. This is the worst restaurant...
