If you can’t accomodate diners you have seated outdoors in wet weather; don’t expect them to accomodate your unilateral decision to convert any remaining meals to take away.
For what it’s worth, prospective diner, the fact that they have attempted to deflect their very basic responsibility of providing a suitable table onto the need for somebody with mobility impairments to move out of the rain, while leaving the remainder of their meal behind, should tell you all you need to know.
As other reviewers have noted, this business regularly changes their comments to edit out temper tantrums, presumably because the (very unpleasant) make owner has to be reigned in by his sister (co-owned, not that this fact suited a narrative they tried on in now deleted comments).
Perhaps next time, this business should at least attempt to get their lies straight before they go about creating multiple false narratives to disguise their general incompetence. I have been reluctant to leave a review as the owner has a clear history of intimidating reviewers with arrogant and aggressive responses. Without any intention of engaging with this business again, I’d like to warn diners against coming here. Unfortunately it started raining after we took our seats outside and ordered our meal. After ducking for cover I asked a waitress to pop our coffees in take away cups before they arrived at our table and cancel our remaining order when it was evident that there was no space to move inside the restaurant and no alternative wet weather plan. A man who I presume was the owner instead pushed me to pay for the meal we hadn’t yet received and take it to go, insisting that we were harming his precious small business, forcing them to “piss away money”. I explained that we had no where to eat our meal and refused to pay for a dine in service that wasn’t delivered but not after being publicly lectured. To be clear, it’s not my fault that you don’t have an awning/ umbrellas/ or any discernible contingency plan for foreseeable circumstances that arise when you offer outdoor dining. There was no availability to move inside. We did of course pay for everything that was consumed up to the point where the restaurant could no longer seat us. Thank you so much to the two staff members who apologised to me on this mans behalf and some of the restaurants patrons that stopped me to say that he was way out of line after the heard him yelling through the restaurant. It did seem like a lot of people are walking on eggshells around this very unpleasant owner, staff visibly stiffened in his presence and I felt quite sorry for them. Highly recommend you give this place a miss or if you must go, be extra nice to the staff here - it’s clear that they’re working in some...
Read moreUPDATES: email sent as per owner request below, but no reply at all after 5 days. I don't see the intention of this business wanting to improve their service and respecting customer feedback after reading some really arrogant replies from the owner to the customer who left poor reviews here.
Very bad customer service and food quality. Do not recommend this place at all.
On Wed morning - We ordered two kids pancake with ice cream, an almond croissant and juice. Both ice cream arrived melted. I didn’t make a fuss as the kids didn’t complain. After a few minutes one kid discovered a small fly in the maple syrup sauce, I let the waitress know abt it, she asked if I would like her to replace it, I said “yes that’d be good”. A few minutes later she came back “just letting you know that the replacement will be charged”, I questioned why, she said “coz the dish did not come out from the kitchen with a fly in it” , I replied “I did not see any fly going into it after it sitting here for a few minutes, but my kid point out there is a fly in there as he was eating it”, I also let her know and showed her the photo of the melted ice cream when the dish arrived, she said she will talk to the manager and kitchen and get back to me regarding the replacement cost. I was really upset about the whole situation, she made me feel like I was being demanding, I felt really bothered and I just wanted to leave asap, my chilled breakfast mood is ruined tbh. A few minutes later she got back letting me know that the replacement dish won’t be charged, I let her know “don’t worry abt it, I don’t want it now, this whole situation is ridiculous, ur ice cream arrived melted, and then there is a fly in the dish, and u asked me to pay for the replacement dish becoz there is a fly in ur dish”, she reassured the replacement dish won’t be charged. I refused the replacement and said don’t worry about it, she offered to waive the initial dish cost, I replied “you can do whatever you want about it”. It is not about the cost of the original dish, the attitude was very poor and disappointing.
The pancake were also dry and hard.
Outcome: The one pancake dish with the fly was waived, but no apology throughout at all, no explanation of why the ice cream were melted when they arrived, no manager coming up to check in.
Suggestion: Make you own judgement if this is the customer service...
Read moreQuick Brown Fox Eatery happened to be the next place that I recently visited for Brunch.
The Atmosphere was pretty calm, light and relaxing for a nice morning.
The Service was very good, we always had someone checking in on us. Food service wasn't a long wait.
Mango Sticky Rice It was a first for me so I had to try it. Coconut Rice provided the balance to take off the sweetness from all the fruit. The Mango was nice a juicy. Raspberries gave a nice pop of flavour. There were these seeds that gave a good crunch, but the mangos were the star. 8/10
Pina Colada Waffles This dish was a limited daily special at the time when I visited and it caught me by surprise and I had to give it a go.
Caramelised Pineapple was coated in Rum and gave a nice flavour profile for the dish. Coconut Ice Cream was nice and creamy Passionfruit was a good touch Coconut Flakes gave a crunchy texture Pineapple Rum Reduction brought the dish together and a was a bit sweet. When the dish was put together it really did taste like a Pina Colada and just as good when deconstructed, nicely elevating. 9/10
Waffle Benedict I chose to go with the ham off the bone which was nice it was nice. The Sourdough Potato Waffle was nice and golden brougn, the texture was crunchy and the inside was light and fluffy. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the yolk oozed out as expected. Hollandaise Sauce was on point and brought it all together with the Spinach. Overall a classic dish with a nice twist. 9/10
Banana Shake +Protein I had to grab a Protein Smoothie finish up. Overall the drink was great. The standard straw that I was served wasn't really that good for the texture it as it was pretty thick, a larger straw is more recommended. The Granola was a nice touch for texture, but I felt that it impacted the flavour profile a bit, bur still enjoyable. 8.5/10
Overall my experience at Quick Brown Fox Eatery was very good. It is a great place to sit down with someone to grab a coffee with some great food. Definitely coming back try some other elevated dishes they have to offer and always check out the daily specials.
