Saikyo Chatswood — Restaurant in Sydney

Used to love coming here as I'm local and the sushi was delicious but this was few years ago before the change in ownership it seems. Since the change, their sushi rolls are so bland. The rice tastes like it's come straight out of the rice cooker with no rice vinegar or anything else to season it! The rice is also always really wet and that's not because of the sauce. The seaweed quality has also worsened - always wet and chewy. Unfortunately as prices increase, inevitably their prices increase too but for a salmon sushi roll with the size being the palm of my hand is ridiculous at $4.60 not to mention their card surcharge. I used to rush here after work for their end of day sales but looks like I won't be anymore. Their unagi eel bento freshly made at lunch is still nice but not for the price to pay and is not enough to make me return. Unfortunately the standard has dropped heaps…. I was very surprised to ask if I could get the salmon lover box….. I was told NO, not on the menu anymore because of a different chef…and calling it something different. Thinking a different owner or? Someone changed the menu?!?!….or the new owner?
