Eventually, we were wooed by The Weasel. But we played hard to get, as did The Weasel.
First date: a disaster! Worst 'old fashioned' I have ever had. Second date: refused entry. Outrageous! Not convinced that this was the end of my womance with The Weasel, I went back for one more shot at the title. And I was won over by The Weasel. Ok, so the cocktails are never going to win any awards, or hearts, but The Weasel won me over ... with its genuine attempt to be a neighbourhood bar. It's fun. The trick with The Weasel is to not take the cocktails too seriously, because they certainly don't! Good times though, they're ALL IN! Walk on into The Weasel... it might just win your heart too. Or maybe The Weasel plied us with just enough drinks to come back for more? There's only one way to find out...
   Read moreIt was early on a weeknight around 5-6pm. I popped in there for a quiet drink with a friend I hadn't seen in over a year. The music was loud yet there were only 3 people in the bar...including us. I asked the barman to turn the music down so we could talk...but within about 5-10 minutes, the music volume seemed to increase again. Seriously?
Given there was no one in the bar at the time, I couldn't understand why the music needed to be loud to the point I had to raise my voice.
We were just looking for a bar that was quiet where we could have a chat, drink and some food.
I'm a frequent traveller and given there are a myriad of other bars in the same vicinity, I doubt I'll be visiting again. First impressions count for a lot in my book and this bar did...
