I have been coming to Sea Bar for over 20 years Recently the restaurant was sold to Deepan by the former owner Peter. I took my family for lunch today and ordered my usual John Dory fish , salad and chips. My grandsons ordered a healthy fish and a child’s fish and chips. The John Dory ($32) and Healthy fish were the worst meals I have had in all the years I have supported this restaurant. The fish was small , partially cooked, cold and unappetising displayed on the plate without any experience or interest. The child’s meal of fish and chips comprised 8 chips and one defrosted fish finger. When we complained about the meals to Deepan, his response was negative and clearly demonstrated that he had no customer service ability or empathy. Walking through the rear of the restaurant to access the bathroom the back area was dirty and smelled badly. As a professional advisor to businesses that are in difficulty I would not be surprised this restaurant is facing the following Poor management; Poor staff resources; Poor cash flow; Inability to satisfy and retain customers as a result of the above and other issues. I will not be...
Read moreI have been to this cafe twice for breakfast. I went this morning for breakfast- with my sister. We were served water and my sister commented that water tasted weird- It was fine for me. I did not pay much attention. I ordered Mother Clucker and my sister ordered fried egg with toast. Food was good and I loved it. At the end my sister said that the water still tasted and smelled weird. When I smelled the glass- it smelled like egg. I looked at my glass and found lipstick stains on my glass when both of us did not have any lipstick on. We did not say anything at that time because food was good and we were the first customer and did not want to ruin the whole day service. My sister vomited after coming back home. Food is great but I would strongly recommend to improve the cleanliness and hygiene. I would come back for the food but due to the experience towards cleanliness and...
Read moreThis place used to rock every day summer or winter when the south american's owned it. Recently it changed hands and the new owners have a lot to learn. Mainly about bacon. They call it bacon but it isn't. It is some kind of thin rectangular processed crap that they deceptively call bacon. They say "That's what our customers want." Seriously? What customers don't want real bacon? They don't like giving you sugar for your coffee either. This is rationed to one sachet when requested. Another customer asked for more strawberry flavouring in their strawberry milkshake and was told "Most customers like it the way it is" and ignored their request. Annoyingly, they even spruik customers checking the menu at the cafe next door. Maybe because the only thing they're good at is losing much treasured local customers. In fairness, after the first disappointing visit, I gave them another go....
