I'm not someone that normally goes to what some people may refer to as "indy" or "hipster" type places. I'm also not someone that normally goes for health-conscious food. But I'm so glad that I went here. The food was great, although a little pricey (but understandable considering what i was served). Tasted proper healthy. My only criticism is that the furniture (At least where I was seated) is not the most comfortable. Would definitely come here again though! **Edit in response to Owner: Thanks for the response! I was seated along the bench placed against the street-side wall. The stool I was sitting on was one of those old-style, screw height adjusting seats. The reason I found in uncomfortable was because the height of the stool in relation to the table was rather awkward. So I had to slouch in order to eat my food because the stool was so high. I wouldn't mind sitting there and having a coffee, but i wouldn't eat at that specific seat. I would much rather sit at one of the other tables.

I love SFJ — I come here every single day! The staff are absolute legends, the menu is inventive, delicious and always evolving, and the vibe is friendly and fun. There are a couple of favourites that keep me coming back, like the “Mr Jack” toasted sandwich, the epic “Morning Start” mushroom stack, and the açai bowl with homemade peanut butter. But I look forward to the monthly specials and always try them out, they’re always awesome ❤️ the photo on this review is from my birthday, I chose to start the day here as it’s one of my happy places 💁‍♂️ if you haven’t been here give it a shot, you’ll fall in love with the place

Found this place via Google. It attracted me as it’s local and had many good reviews. They also had our preferred almond milk brand, Milk Lab - so was an easy yes to us! We’re from Melbourne so we know good coffee.. and I have to admit the coffee was great! Consistent too, as we went back a few times. Staff are friendly and easy going. Cafe is small but we were able to fit our pram comfortably inside. Thanks again to the staff for making our Sydney trip memorable with your cafe. We’ll be back again :) photos courtesy of my 3 year old!

I'm loving this inner city gem, hosted by owner-chef Phillip & his partner Jess.

A couple of steps from George St, Ultimo will bring you to a quiet little corner on Abercrombie St, and the cutest window you've ever seen! Inside, perched amongst the Shabby Chic surroundings and vintage collectables, you'll forget your inner city worries over a cup (or two) of great coffee.

On the day we went, there was a gorgeous sourdough sandwich piled high with thinly sliced shards of crunchy fennel, rocket and goat's cheese. My lunch companion had the (mega-meaty-munch) of a steak sandwich with all the yummy bits. Serious lunch time fueling!

It's such a charming little spot which prides itself on seasonal, beautiful produce. All of it produced from a button sized and quirky kitchenette. Make sure you leave room for their baked goods. The brownies on the counter are seriously Foodporn...

I ate here this Sunday with a group of friends. The food and service was outstanding! I have been here a year ago but I don’t remember that experience. However, this time round, it left a VERY good impression! The bruschetta here are one of the best I have had (I have tried many all around Sydney). The presentation and taste of every dish was phenomenal! We had food from the weekly special. The dishes we had include the lemon chicken bruschetta, special of the weekend, Morning Start and the Earth. Service was prompt and food was served in a very timely manner. The most important thing was everyone’s dish was served at the same time. I would recommend this cafe to family and friends and definitely come back. This cafe really puts other cafe restaurants I’ve been to, to shame!

I absolutely...
