I love bread and moving to Potter street, the shop caught my eye. I entered the shop that had a closed door and a aorry hand written sign saying to 'push open to oder'. Once inside the enpty shop, a miserable staff points me to the printed selection on the 'menu'. Then after i asked for the plain option, i paid and got the bagged item...in a bag. I did notice the 1.5% card surcharge on an already expensive product. The bread is more akin to sweet bread/ very buttery brioche. And although pleasant, the $16.5 price (inc. surcharge) is just plain off putting. It is not THAT good to justify the desolate shop, miserable staff and high price. Read moreNice white soft bread with unique flavours. It is not the same texture as Japanese Shokupan bread. More like soft white loaf bread. Toast it for more flavour. It's quite addictive as I had two slices of bread in one go (red bean mochi). The flavour is subtle, toast the bread for the mochi to melt a bit. I ate it without any condiments like butter. Fairly pricey at $15.80 for full sized loaf. The bread is baked in the morning so come by later (and not when they open) if you are after a specific flavour. Read moreWent today. Says they open at 8 am, but when we got there they said there's no bread until 10 am, only coffee.
We came back at 10 am and they only had the 4 basic flavours available, everything else they said will be available after 12 pm.
Very expensive (almost $16 for one loaf of about 10 slices), and the bread basically tastes the same as the stuff you can get at bread top or pretty much any other bread shop for less than $5.
