Unsatisfactory customer service and rude incident.
I went here today with my customer. I have been here a few times before and the food is consistently decent but today was just a really horrible experience. Firstly we went upstairs to sit down and eat, the staff upstairs had no sense of joy or happiness. I did not even see a smile of any kind.. it was definitely a 0 for customer service experience. We were greeted very average and we felt unwelcome. Once the food came out, we were quite satisfied as the portions are a decent size and the Thai ice tea is very nice. The issue started as we were paying our bill as we ordered a takeaway container and we were charged fifty cents for it. This restaurant only takes cash and we were 50c short on our 35 dollar bill. We explained to them we would go to the ATM to get the 50c and come back to the restaurant straight away as we are semi regular customers and that they know our faces from before. They were adamant that my 17year old female cousin stay behind as security or that we leave a photo ID or passport. We explained to them that we paid the bulk of the bill and were disappointed to find them make a scene in front of other locals for 50c. In the end we had another customer who was eating there witness this incident and he took out 50c from his wallet and ran up to pay this amount. I think the staff being rude and treating us like we were worthless was quite hurtful as we are very decent people who happened to have 35aud cash on us and were 50c short. I think treating customers like this over a small amount of money is quite rude and desperate. We will not eat at this restaurant again and we will not be treated this way. At the end of the day we did not deserve to be made an example of infront of others and to be treated like this. I would only recommend this place if you want a quick cheap eat, however if you are expecting friendly staff or a joyful experience; go somewhere else. On my way out I explained to them that it was poor treatment over such a small amount of money however the waitress spoke very little English so my words were not understood. I hope the manager sees this and trains the staff to have some sense of humanity, respect and decency when dealing with...
Read moreWe needed some late night Thai food and because Sydney is a country town and everything closes at 10pm even on a Saturday we ended up here. The service was fine, but it was very noisy upstairs - there doesn't seem to be any sound insulation up there and the ceiling is low. Unfortunately, that meant we couldn't hear each other and so we had to quickly learn sign language. By the time we'd downloaded the app for learning it and then learned some of the basic grammar of signing, the food arrived and we ate. The food itself was just okay for Thai food, not great. Most of our dishes were duck - in fact all of them were. That's probably because the waitress heard us say: "What the duck is with the noise levels in here?" Or it might be that we decided to eat duck because we never eat that at home. Or maybe it was a combination of the two. Regardless, if you live in Sydney and you're too overwhelmed by the vibrant, exciting nightlife it has to offer and you need a 'very late' night break from all the excitement *yawn, then go here, because you don't have many other choices. The only other alternative is to fly out of Sydney and visit sleepy little hamlets like New York or LA, where everything closes...
Read moreSTAY AWAY from this place. Some restaurants care just about making maximum profit, not good food and hospitality. This is one of them. Ordered Pad Thai Prawns and asked for extra veggies. Was charged extra 5 dollars for the extra veggies part. Thought that it was too much, but whatever. When got the dish - there was one piece of broccoli there and maybe a fifth of carrot that's all the veggies. Called the waitress to complain. She looked though my plate with my fork in front of me, found another piece of broccoli and told me that that's what I paid for. When confronted her about the fact that it does not make sense that they charge 5 dollars for two tiny pieces or broculli and a few slices of carrot, she took away the plate without saying anything. A few minutes later a new dish was thrown onto my table with a bad attitude. It contained a few extra pieces of of broculli and mushrooms. Great... Thanks for your generousity. Everyally, when I wanted to take the remaining of the meal away and asked for a container - they asked me to pay 50 cents for it. Wow... Seriously? Overall, the dish tasted unotherntic, not tasty and was too sweat. Probably one of the worst Thai restaurants I've...
