First things first, there's 10% surcharge for Sundays. Obviously I missed this info from the menu. There's no sign anywhere outside/inside the restaurant. That makes our meal extra expensive: $103+ for 2 bentos, 6 pieces salmon nigiri and 1 lipton tea. And there's a notice near the counter, says price will go up after 26th May?

For the price, I would expect the quality of food to be better. All the raw fish we had are close to bad. They smell fishy from distance. Good thing is tempura and eel taste good. I don't expect them to be authentic. But I've had better Japanese meal prepared by Korean.

Another thing needs improvement is the service. I guess the girl attendant is new? She almost dropped the menus when collecting them from our table. She then brought a bento box with 2 sections empty and when I asked she was clueless.

There were 3 staff working on that day. 2 tables occupied out of 10 when we left.

Presentation of food is good, serving is good.

All in all, it might only be good for local take away. That's it. Don't believe in the...

What an amazing find!! Delicious authentic Japanese food prepared by chef with love and care. Also the restaurant is family owned, I guess this explains the fresh delicious food. I tried Vegetable Goyozas (divine!!), Agadashi Tofu (some of the best I've ever tried), Salmon Bento Box (so good! Decent amount of salmon), Tuna Avocado roll (simple, but so tasty) and Dragon Roll (loved it! 🤤). Everything was fantastic. Beautifully presented, tasty and very generous portions.

I will definitely come back for more! They have a great variety of Japanese cuisine, not just sushi. So I'm definitely keen to try everything on the menu.

I think it's very reasonably priced compared to other Japanese restaurants. I was actually surprised at prices. For a family of 3, we spent almost $100 but I ate a lot haha I was after my 2 hour swimming training, so I ate like a swimmer. 🤗🐋 But I would say one portion of anything that we ate would be a decent sufficient meal on its own. The...

Last week, we went to Sushi Gen, which is hands down our all-time favorite spot. As expected, the food was incredible. We ordered a variety of dishes—tempura, sushi, sashimi, and stir-fry udon. The tempura, as always, was the highlight. It came with two perfectly crispy prawns and a mix of fresh vegetables, all fried to perfection. Honestly, they looked so tempting that I couldn’t resist and ended up eating them before I even remembered to take a photo!

The sashimi was also top-notch—super fresh and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The sushi was equally impressive, with vibrant fish and expertly prepared rice. Even the stir-fry udon was spot-on, with the right balance of flavors and texture. Every dish was a reminder of why we keep coming back to Sushi Gen. The quality never disappoints, and it’s always...
