THAI 44 — Restaurant in Sydney

Arguably the worst experience ! As I realized this was a busy restaurant we booked a table of 4 through Open table and we even arrived few minutes before and when we arrived there were a lot of people waiting and I even thought lucky I booked a table but then at the door I was told by the lady even when I made the booking I still have to line up with the queue because they never intended to reserve the table for us ! I understand if my table was still occupied we could just wait until the customers leave but been told never reserved the table and wait at the back of the queue? And the lady didn’t even try to apologize to us then what’s the bloody point of letting people to reserve the table online? There are plenty of good Thai restaurants in the city but this one no matter how good they said online I would never ever go there and if anyone sees this review make sure you don’t reserve your table online! While shopping with my sister in Sydney', we chanced upon THAI 44, a popular Thai restaurant that turned out to be amazing. Every dish here was delicious!

The Thai hotpot had incredibly tender beef and chicken. Dipping them in egg liquid before cooking made the texture smooth and delicate. The ingredients weren’t heavily marinated, keeping the original flavors while being low in calories—perfect for those watching their diet.

The stir-fried rice with runny fried eggs was eye-catching when served. The three fried eggs had a crispy outer layer, and when broken, the yolk mixed with the aroma of basil and minced meat. Each grain of rice was soaked in the sauce, making it extremely appetizing.

The fried rice noodles were full of fragrance, with a smooth and chewy texture. Finishing the meal with a Thai milk tea or bubble tea was ideal—the icy, refreshing drinks perfectly cut through...

I came here today for a dinner with 6 people.

Despite asking the waiter several times, my order did not arrive even after about an hour.

Each time I asked, they simply said, "IT'S COMING."

To make things worse, my friends mentioned that their foods weren’t delicious either.

I’m super disappointed with this experience and might never return to this place.

I suggest being upfront about how long it will take to serve the food. If it’s delayed, don’t just say, "It’s coming."

After a tiring day, this experience made things even worse.

If I had known the food wasn’t going to arrive, I would have used the waiting time to eat elsewhere. Instead, I ended up having to request a refund at the store!
