Firstly, I'd like to say the website menu hasn't been updated, so when we arrived we were told the majority of what we wanted was no longer available, not really an issue, but what was an issue was the incredibly bland , poorly cooked food- you know what's a really bad look, when all your chefs and workers sit down to eat, and you have ordered pizza , after a customer complaint. That's all I'm going to leave you with. Edit: in response to Alegrias reply, I'd like to clarify, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with Your staff sitting down to a meal, however what is wrong, is the $140 I paid for lamb that made me throw up. When I told your staff member that the meat had been sitting there for a long time , he didn't disagree, infact he didn't say anything. The salad wasn't what I ordered , the meat made me sick, and the food was cooked poorly, please don't attempt to blame the poor quality of food on shortages or lack of government handouts, the food made me ill, I had eaten nothing else all day, and the lamb sent me running to the bathroom. The freekah was completely tasteless- I'm not trying to trash your business, but I don't appreciate paying top dollar for food that wasn't cooked with any consideration, and staff who can't acknowledge a customer raising a concern at the time. You're rated highly amongst online forums when searching for great tapas, you should be able to do better than what I was presented with. The meat wasn't fit for consumption and I don't appreciate that. The reason it looked bad was because I had a terrible experience, then I see your staff eating food that's not from your establishment, it cemented my bad experience. May I add, it's not a good look to call customers telling them they shouldn't have been able to make a booking on your website for a seating, that was well within your operating hours. That was in no way our issue, however I should have taken it as a sign not to come because I deeply regret it - especially after reading your response.

Still, on the lookout for Sydney's best Paella! The Paella at Alegrias was seasoned nicely with the sweet smoked paprika however it wasn't served to temperature, not sure why? Within, 5 minutes of receiving the Paella the pan was cold to the touch. Despite, the seasoning this Paella missed one of the key elements of any Paella, the socarrat. Yet the rice was perfectly cooked but for $59 the amount of seafood on this "SEAFOOD PAELLA" was a complete rip-off. I even question the freshness of the seafood, the prawns were soft/mushy and the hake tasted quite fishy, all would be forgiven if this "fresh" seafood was not used so sparingly. To compensate for the scarcity of seafood, I decided to order the grilled calamari unfortunately it seemed to be cooked by a novice as the garlic was burnt resulting in an unpleasant bitter flavour. The wild mushroom croquettes lacked texture and seasoning, if wild mushrooms were used I'd like to see them mixed through the bechamel, not blitzed through it. All in all, the service was professional but I would implore them to have a look at the quantity of seafood they serve with their $59 Paella. Alas, still not convinced by the Paella hype.

Restaurants seem to have forgotten what the dining experience is all about. Well certainly Alegris demonstrates little knowledge in this area. We joined Alegris for the "All you can eat Tapas". And was to experience an overly trying experience each time we attracted the waitress to our table. Let me set the scene at Alegris. The decor is nice. Not bland, not gaudy as some restaurants are when they search for character. The food is nice, potentially above average really. But the quality of the food gets lost in when your other senses are overwhelmed. Predominantly your hearing. This restaurant is loud. Too loud. They could definitely do with an acoustic treatment to lower the 'noisy train station' sound effects. Coupled with the Spanish accent and the sense that it was every waiter and waitress first night (they were so desperately untrained), it made our experience between tedious and frustrating. Perhaps in smaller groups, perhaps not choosing the "all you can eat" option, Alegris might be a good restaurant. Until then, they have some work to do before it's a worthwhile dining option.

One of the most terrible experiences I've had in Sydney ... Food quality was average but the overall customer experience was something I will never forget... After waiting for awhile had to help my family with bringing high chairs and water for the kids by myself. When we were half way through the dinner we asked about the not delivered items which turned out not to be ordered in the kitchen, so decided to get some more wine while waiting, after the wine didn't come I asked about it, I was told that bartender wasn't behind the bar but order will be followed up. After it didn't come again I asked for it to be canceled since it was already too late and needed to get kids home. 1 min. after this the manager came with the wine shouting at us saying that as per the system it was 2 mins since the wine was ordered ... everyone looking at us, the person to whom I ordered came and explained the manager that she didn't put the order in the system initially, I added that I am happy to pay for it anyway... this manager didn't stop and continued shouting at us in front of everyone... so embarrassing...

An authentic family owned Spanish restaurant located in Rozelle. Dishes were quite simple and generally cooked well. The Pork Belly had a nice crisp to it, different to many other western restaurants which usually have thicker sticky skin. This one though was slightly more fatty as well. The Patatas Bravas were soft, but would have been better if it was more crispy. Flavour wise, it was on point. The highly was the cheese and guava filled Empanadas. Nice sweetness and texture. Better than the chicken and beef. On the other end, the fried potatoes with iberico and mash, was a bit off (the mash felt like it was overmashed - weird texture)and the olives were too salty. Service was also a bit off. We wanted to order a dessert, but the menu never came. It was also difficult to get someone to assist us, after we did our initial order. The table I was placed on, the corner window frames were quite dusty as well (needed a good wipe). However, overall a nice and relaxing vibe and the manager was friendly. Gave it 4 stars more because of the effort. Hope to see more improvements in the future.

Came on an early Saturday night. We were one of the first customers. Food was decently presented and came at a nice pace, very good ambience. Unfortunately, overall table service was super awkward experience. Staff kept miscounted the number of people to bring cutlery and plates for. We were interrupted mid-conversation a few times at intervals where we haven’t finished our food. Only the head waitress who took our orders knew what she was doing. Unfortunately, we had to repeat ourselves a few times for the other staff when we were ordering for more water/cocktails/food - but still they got the orders incorrectly The restaurant was not even half packed, so not sure why the waiters seemed like they were in a rush. Overall food from the tapas & paellas were bland. Some seafood was either not fresh, soggy or overcooked. Cheese/Guava Empanadas were worth a try. Pork Cerviche was also pretty good and interesting. Sangria were delicious and would’ve order more if we didn’t need to drive.
