HIDDEN GEM!! MUST TRY!! We had an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC night at The Funky Indian – and trust me, we’ll be back SOON! From the moment we stepped in, the vibe was perfect. The staff? So incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive – they made us feel right at home. The service was top-notch, and let's talk about the cocktails... The bartender knows exactly what they’re doing – every sip was pure bliss, and *so* much fun! We opted for the set menu (amazing value, by the way!) which included a lovely house wine – but of course, we couldn’t resist trying the cocktails too! As for the food? WOW. Each dish was bursting with flavour. They even helped us navigate the spice levels, which was such a thoughtful touch. When our mains arrived, they gave us the perfect amount of space and time to savour every bite and Yap away. And don’t even get me started on dessert – best thing I have ever tried. This was a special celebration, so we splurged a bit more than usual, but honestly, whether you go à la carte or choose the set menu, the prices are SO reasonable. You can make it as relaxed or as extravagant as you like – it's the perfect spot for any occasion. Conveniently located just a few meters from the metro, The Funky Indian is an absolute MUST-TRY. Seriously, everyone should try the Honey Chilli Aloo Gobi at least once in their life. As for me, I’ll be ordering it EVERY time I come back! 😜 Trust me – don't miss out on this place! You'll leave full, happy, and planning your next visit! This review is not paid in anyway, I’m just a foodie who think this place deserves the hype and to be packed every night!

Great Experience! I was recently invited to check out The Funky Indian Restaurant -the vibe was super welcoming and the staff were friendly! The food was delicious — everything I tried was fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. My favorite was the crunchy shots and chicken tikka (entrees) definitely worth trying! Portions were just right, and the menu had a nice variety! Service was on point — quick, attentive, and relaxed. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Thanks again to the team for the invite and the amazing meal!

their set menu for $110pp includes 2 cocktails, mixed starters, 3 mains with rice + naan bread and a dessert! this spot was a standout from other restaurants I’ve been to 🌟 you have to try the crunchy shots, they’re a burst of masala and tamarind the garlic naan was my personal fav, really crunchy and the best pairing with butter chicken. the lentil curry also had great spices trying the dosa was fun as you can pour the sambar and coconut chutney on top, and the cottage cheese dumplings had a spongey texture with a milk flavour.

The Funky Indian – A Must-Visit Gem in Sydney!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Funky Indian, and I can confidently say it was the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever visited. From the moment we walked in, the staff—Nahit, Manner, Sagar, and Sushma—made us feel incredibly welcome with their exceptional attention to detail and genuine hospitality.

A standout moment was when they prepared a special lemonade for the children, creating a spectacular smoky effect that left them in awe—such a unique and thoughtful touch!

The food was nothing short of extraordinary. We enjoyed the Butter Chicken, Chicken Chettinad, and Beef Madras, and each dish was packed with deep, well-balanced flavors, showcasing the richness of authentic Indian cuisine. The curry blends were just perfect—flavorful, aromatic, and incredibly satisfying.

To top it off, their wine menu was excellent, and throughout the meal, the team remained attentive, ensuring that every guest felt valued.

If you’re in Sydney and love Indian food (or even if you’re new to it), The Funky Indian is an absolute must-visit. Can’t...

My best friend and I went out for a meal at Funky. It was the first time we had met for about a year (I live in QLD). Everything was great, and the food was good. We were the last people in the restaurant and were so engrossed in our conversation that we didn't realise the time… until the owner came to our table with a very aggressive attitude, demanding that we leave. I was shocked that anyone in business would treat customers in this manner. A simple “Sorry guys, it’s x o'clock and you are the last people. Would you mind if we closed the restaurant?” or something similar. My friend loves his Currys, and his last favourite closed down, and he has wanted to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, he and I will...
