HORRIBLE PLACE. Worst experience in 20 years. The food is horrible, the eggs have gone bad and it tastes sour. The environment is horrible, tables and seats are dirty and sticky and no one cleans it. As a customer I should clean it by myself. ❗MOST IMPORTANTLY, the service is bad as hell The waiter came to take my dishes though I haven’t finished eating, as if urge me to go away quickly. The time since I sit down was less than 1.5 hours, and a short Asian old woman come and urge me to leave!!! 【She threatened me either pay more to buy more food or go away!!!】😡 It was just less than 1.5 hours since I sat here! I asked why, she said: “This is my store and you should obey my rule!” If there were too many customers and the tables were not enough, I would leave myself. However, almost all tables are empty just like the picture! So it’s unreasonable to drive customers away at this circumstance. The only reason was because she wanted me to buy more and pay more. It was ridiculous, so I left. When I left, I heard the Asian old woman cursing me with a waitress. Fine, I don’t think this kind of people could be the real boss, and pity for the innocents boss this place gain a 2.5-star review, it’s for a reason. It was Sunday night, diner time, every restaurant in darling quarter was almost full, but this place is always empty. It’s for a reason. The poor short old Asian woman should account for the 2.5-star review. She definitely hate the real boss of this restaurant and wants to ruin the word of mouth. And if she’s the real boss, this kind of vicious and unkind people will definitely go broke sooner or later.

What a disgrace for the so called “owner”. I ordered 2 soy flatwhites. When I received my order, the coffee feels soo light “Cappucino” like. So I asked the young man if they got my order correct, he couldnt answer me and then a ldy came (to whom she said the owner of the cafe). I told her about my coffee but insisted that “soy milk” makes lot of froth than normal milk.. to my response, “No it does not, and I ordered flatwhite not cappucino”. She then said “Youre saying my neice is not professional”? .. i was shocked because I did not say such a thing.. and then I asked, is she a trained barista? Then she said to me that “im rude and not nice” -Take note: she already raising her voice at me infront of other customers. My reponse to her “Im not rude at all,, im basically just letting u know what I ordered.. she keeps being unprofessional by raising her voice at me (im carrying my newborn too at that time). So I said, youre rude and disgusting customer service, I just want my refund. She said how Can I refund you, you paid by card..? My response: “i dont know, youre the owner so, u should know. She then grabbed cash from the till and threw it at me and she walked away babbling. NEVER AGAIN! Disgusting service!!!!! I will never forget her face.

My workplace is close to this coffee shop, yesterday I order(take away) a small Chai Latte and a Spinach Ricotta roll and to my shock the bill came up $19.50. I was stunned for a while and called the person who billed my order and asked is there anything wrong with my order why is so expensive for just a coffee and spinach roll. I was thinking something wrong with the order but adding to my surprise the person told that the chai latte price was increased 3-4 months ago. I would have accepted it if the price was increased by $0.50 or even $1 for a beverage but here it went up to $7.50. I would say this is the costliest Chai Latte I ever had in Sydney that too for ordinary taste. Whatsoever the renovations the management has invested on the restaurant this is not the way to overprice the item like this to get the returns back. If you really wish to stay long in the business and get the repeated customers you need to revisit your strategy.

This is my second review for the same visit and my encounter with the manager afterwards only made things worse

This place is the worst venue in all of Sydney CBD. I’m writing again because after my first review the manager on duty today refused to refund me for items that were not yet made and given to me and my table. We got eggs first and then waited 10 minutes for the next plate to come which was a ham and cheese toastie, it had 1 small slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese. We took it back and said we were unhappy with it because of the price and the site of the bread slices half wasn’t even filled.

The manager said that’s how we make it. My sister said she wanted a refund but the owner refused and said she’ll make it again. I went to the counter and told them it’s been 30 minutes and we are a group and also with a child trying to eat together and we are all sitting watching 1 person eat at a time. And that I wanted a refund on the other two sandwiches that haven’t come out.

The owner refused and said we don’t do that here I’m already making it so you have to pay. I told her I don’t want it now, she walked away ignoring me and started making them. I told her we were unhappy with the food so are entitled to a refund. She said we don’t do refunds I told her where does it say that anywhere in this building? She proceeded to laugh at me and telling her staff not to talk to me or my family any longer. I told her I would be reporting this to the accc and she said sue me that’s fine you aren’t getting your money back. But proceeded to offer me 3 apple juices as a “good will” gesture which valued the same as the sandwiches. I told her you’re offering me this and not a refund that doesn’t make any sense as it’s the same prices just refund me my two items. We didn’t want a full refund just the two sandwiches. The juices were $8 each and the sandwiches $12. $99 spent here and all we ate were the eggs.

She yelled and told me she doesn’t care about consumer laws in Australia.

This business is also displaying an invalid ABN number on their tax invoice receipts which I have now reported.

Do yourselves a favour and never eat here. I am shocked to see them still open for business with such terrible service and food and not only that the rating of a 2 on google must be embarrassing...

UPDATE: A café that doesn't allow customers to dine-in unless you're having breakfast or lunch. And they mislead you with everything!

A friend took me here on a Saturday,15 October 2022, without realising I've been here a year ago. We were going to have a sitdown afternoon tea BUT we were told to just order at the counter - ONLY to be served TAKE AWAY tea bags for PREMIUM PRICE and IGNORED request to heat up the croissants and put the milk on the side! Staff had to ask 2x what our order was despite having a ticket for the order and saying yes to our request. When we asked staff - why the milk wasn't put on the side and why the croissants were cold- they just shrugged and said take away only! NO ONE TOLD us that the café was take away only. Apparently you can sit down if you are ordering breakfast or lunch! So we ended up seating on a public seating area next to this café.

You guys have some serious ussues! $30 for two tea bags and two croissants - again freaking RIP OFF and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Should have checked google reviews first - could have learnt that it was the exact same café that my husband and I went to a year ago!

2O21 REVIEW: Tried this for Saturday brunch and was extremely annoyed and so disappointed that we walked away. Our orders were taken and 45 minutes later the food wasn't ready. Despite 2 attempts to follow it up the staff just said, "sorry, it's coming". We were told they were attending to the big table with about 10 people. Would have appreciated it had we been told of the wait in the first instance. A can of coke and a serve of tea costed us $12 a bit of a rip off. Not coming...
