I usually don’t post reviews but the experience I had here made me really upset. The customer service was pretty much nonexistent here, when we went to order at the counter, we were ignored for a few minutes (understand that they were busy but could have at least told us they’d be right with us or something) before a lady whose attitude was as if we owed her money served us. We ordered a bowl of cold noodles which was undercooked (the noodles were way too hard) so my sister went up to ask if they could cook the noodles for a bit longer. The lady was extremely rude and argued that the noodles were supposed to be that way because they were COLD NOODLES (sorry but we’ve had cold noodles before and no cold noodles are supposed to be that hard). My sister felt awkward and returned with the noodles only to hear the lady discuss how she had gone up to complain about the noodles with the man behind the counter a few minutes later making both of us feel extremely uncomfortable. Understand that the current environment has been challenging for small businesses but it doesn’t mean we can be treated so rudely. This experience ruined our day. I see that most of these reviews are quite positive - not trying to argue or anything, hope we were just unlucky and caught the store owner on a bad day but 10/10...
Read moreThis place is a no-nonsense, power-packed punch to the tongue. Flavour, flavour, flavour — Yan’s delivers it in spades.
The slow-cooked beef noodles are a standout. Rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying, the broth clings to every strand of noodle, while the tender beef melts in your mouth. There’s a subtle tingle of spice and herbs that lingers on the lips — warming, not overwhelming — and leaves your belly full and happy.
The fried dumplings are just as memorable: perfectly crisp on the outside with a juicy, flavourful filling inside. They strike that ideal balance between, as I would say “munch and crunch”, with every bite bursting with freshness and care.
It’s clear that the ingredients are top quality, and there’s a strong herbal undertone that gives everything a bold, unique edge.
The owners are incredibly friendly and clearly passionate — not just about their food, but about creating something meaningful. It shows in every dish.
Highly recommend. Get yourself some of this. You...
Read moreYan’s Kitchen is one of those quietly brilliant spots that never try too hard but always deliver. Run by an elderly couple who make everything by hand, from the noodles to the dumplings, it feels like stepping into someone’s home kitchen rather than a restaurant. The food isn’t fancy or modern; it’s comfort food done right. The braised beef noodles are the standout, rich, slightly herbal, and deeply satisfying. The dumplings, especially the pork ones, taste honest and balanced, nothing over-seasoned or oily.
The shop itself looks a little worn and the service is minimal. You grab your own chopsticks, extra bowls, and don’t expect any front-of-house polish. But that’s part of the charm. You come here for genuine handmade food, not the ambience. Prices are fair, and the flavours consistent. Whether it’s a takeaway night or a dine-in craving, it’s the kind of place you keep coming back to because it simply never...
