I can never go past mlt- I love how you can pick and choose what you want and how much food you want to eat/ pay for. The choices at YGF are some of the best I’ve seen in Sydney for mlt and I’m impressed by the quality of ingredients and choice of soup bases. Definitely hit this place up if you are in Haymarket, Kensington or Burwood areas!! ——————————

❤︎ 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗱-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱: back for round two and ready to find my ultimate malatang mix ❤︎ 𝗙𝗮𝘃 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵: stir-fried malatang ❤︎ 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿: comfort food cravings, DIY meal lovers, spice seekers ❤︎ 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲: casual and cozy with that hotpot hustle—expect a wait during dinner rush ✨
Second time here and I think I’ve found my go-to combo! First time I tried the soup version (which was good), but the dry malatang? Totally hits different—in the best way.
I picked noodles as the base (because obviously), then loaded it up with fish balls, mushrooms, chicken slices, tofu, and veggies. The medium spice level was just right—flavorful and warm without burning my soul. The dry style really lets the seasoning shine—savory, just a little oily (in a good way!), and super satisfying.
The noodles soak up the sauce perfectly, with that chewy, bouncy texture I love. And the sprinkle of sesame seeds on top? Chef’s kiss! Definitely my kind of comfort food.
𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: The place is simple and pretty cozy, but it does get really crowded at night—so be ready to wait if you come around dinner time. Staff’s fast, but the crowd builds up quickly. Still worth it though!

Read moreI would give this a 0 if I could. Last week when I came, there were tiny bugs ALL OVER the bean sprouts. This is DISGUSTING and completely unsanitary. It’s shocking how they didn’t notice. I bought this up with the cashier and she didn’t even seem suprised! She got a tongs and she just picked up a tiny piece of bean sprouts to throw away even though there were noticeable bugs over the whole thing. I don’t even know if these bugs have spread to the other vegetables or nearby meat. This is completely unacceptable and the whole tray should have been thrown in the bin as a minimum. It is clear that the food here is not clean and I would not be suprised if people contracted food poisoning from this food. THE FOOD TRAYS Are also covered in mould which is so disgusting and super duper unsanitary. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable. Very appalled and I would recommend a different place instead. I am concerned about what other cost saving measures are in place. Still shaking from the experience 😥 and absolutely suggest everyone steer clear of this place and walk two blocks down to Zhang liang Malatang instead. Traumatic. I can see why no...
