3.5/5 for us. Very much street-food inspired like the dessert at Show Nom (same owners). Really narrow space inside - you’d likely be touching elbows with the table next to you. We decided to dine outdoor considering the great weather. We had the Thai style hotpot set ($37.9) which came with mixed veggies, an egg, some glass vermicelli and protein (pork, chicken, squid, prawns and beef). It usually comes with pork liver but we’ve opted to have that replaced with something else. It also came with 2 dipping sauces (seafood sauce and sweet chilli) which we found not spicy enough to our liking. The soup base was very mild. We found that it was a tad messy to deal with. Tasted very homely but nothing out of the ordinary. Also ordered the sticky rice ($3) with the Northern Thai herbal spicy sausage ($9.9 for 7 pieces). They’re more like 2 sausages sliced into 7 pieces - just an FYI. Sausages were really tasty - a whole lot of lemongrass used. Didn’t think it was spicy either. Stick rice was average - do make sure you eat it as soon as it’s opened as it does harden up fairly quickly. Will not rush to return but a good spot for a different style of Thai. If we do, we’d definitely try the boat noodles as it seem to be another popular dish here.

I recently dined at Show Neua Thai and tried the chicken stir fry with rice. The dish was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor, and cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender, the vegetables were fresh, and the portion size was generous. The balance of spices and seasoning made the meal truly enjoyable, highlighting the authentic Thai flavors that I love. However, the dining experience was somewhat marred by the venue's uncomfortable conditions. The restaurant was quite cold, and unfortunately, there were no heaters available to provide any warmth. This made it a bit difficult to fully relax and enjoy the meal. It’s a shame because the food quality was top-notch, and a more comfortable environment would have made the experience perfect. Despite the chilly atmosphere, the friendly and attentive staff did their best to ensure a pleasant visit. They were prompt with service and very accommodating. If you’re planning to visit, I would recommend dressing warmly to offset the cold. Overall, Show Neua Thai offers fantastic food that is well worth trying, and with a few improvements in the venue’s comfort, it could easily become a favorite dining spot.

This is the Thai restaurant I always come back to every time I visit Sydney — it never disappoints! The flavors are bold, authentic, and full of that true Thai kick. The Som Tum with fermented crab is a must-try — spicy, tangy, and incredibly flavorful, just like back home in Isaan. The Sai Ua (Northern Thai sausage) is another highlight — aromatic and perfectly seasoned. The Khao Soi tastes truly Northern-style, with a rich, creamy broth and tender chicken that melts in your mouth. The Hainanese chicken rice is also excellent — soft, juicy chicken, fragrant rice, and a comforting soup on the side. The only dish that didn’t quite hit the mark was the crispy pork stir-fried with curry paste, which was a bit too sweet for my taste. But everything else was spot on. Don’t miss finishing your meal with the roti with chocolate sauce — crispy on the outside, soft inside, freshly made and absolutely perfect to cleanse your palate. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous — definitely worth it. Even when I’m back in Thailand, I still find myself missing the taste of this place! 🇹🇭✨

I usually don't give negative review unless it's really bad. This place was recommended to me by a friend. I had so much expectations since I also saw it in instagram. There's few things I need to point out:

The sharing plates given to us wasn't clean and even there's a lot of chipped and scratched parts. Don't know if it's part of restaurant theme but shouldn't be like that. The staff wearing glasses whom we asked for the sharing plates seems to be annoyed but the rest seems to be alright. The food was below standard, I always said to my partner that we can't go wrong with Thai food but this time it wasn't the case. We ordered the following:

Crispy roti with condensed milk + thai milk tea custard - This is the only food that worth the money. It is very good and I must try. Chinese broccoli with crispy pork - I always ordered this one whenever I ate in Thai restaurant but so far this is beyond the standard. The pork seems to be deep fried couple of times which is too hard and some has a weird taste or just tasteless at all. Pad See Eiw - Which is one of my partner's favorite thai food but this time it's just bad. It so oily and feels like they didn't mix the egg properly. Steamed chicken - My mom said's it's fine but it looks unappetising with all the chicken hair the covers it.

Overall, I wouldn't say it's worth the money. If they missed just one food, we'll probably consider trying it again. Unfortunately, 3 out 4 of was below average, plates given were dirty and the one who gave it made us feel we are not welcome. I do recommended to just go to the next street for some good thai food if you fine this place...

3 of us went to Sydney at 12 am and ordered 2 fried rice and 1 pad Thai. We ordered to the waitress directly instead of using the web app.

At the end they gave us 3 fried rice and 1 pad Thai, and the waitress insisted we ordered 3 fried rice (like why would we??) and she claimed that she has confirmed with us that we ordered 3 fried rice which none of us heard of. We think the waitress just don’t want to take the responsibility.

We told her we want to talk with the manager or boss but no one came out.

What we got is just another waitress coming out and tell us to leave in 5 minutes (not sure if they are actually closing or not it they only ask for us to leave but not the rest that having meal)

I asked why then the waitress didn’t respond but just went back to the restaurant.

We can here a few waitress discussed about us in Thai.

Thanks for the bad service and average food. Will never recommend this place to anyone and will spread the word to the world of what we have experienced.

The passive aggressive on something we didn’t do wrong is truely an unforgettable experience although they eventually didn’t charge us for that extra fried rice. But imagine if we didn’t step up...
