Absolutely gorgeous hotel, completely and full renovated to a modern touch, the rooms are very well equipped and roomy and for the price you cannot get any better in the CBD in my opinion. Key cards grant you the access to the floors so unwanted visitors cannot enter the hotel or your floor. The receptionist was gorgeous and lovely to deal with and check-in was quick and easy. They offer cocktails, breakfast and light dinner meals. Rooms are equipped with streaming TVs and the in-house reception and room service is all done via a tablet in your room which is pretty cool. Very impressed so far, will definitely stay again.

My family and I were faced with the possibility of missing our flight, as our car is parked in capitol carpark and its only open at 9am. We have a flight to catch at 10am. The male receptionist on duty on Boxing Day (I’m sorry I didn’t get your name) was very patient and went out of his way to help us. He helped us to call the security of the carpark, our car rental and gave us suggestions on how we can plan our trip down to the airport. Thank you and appreciate the help!

The Capitol Hotel is a very comfortable hotel with an exceptional location in the middle of Chinatown, just a short walk from City Hall. Rooms are equipped with a large king size beds and have a small desk, a closet and a safe. Service is great, especially when compared to the generally mediocre service level in Sydney, and rooms are cleaned daily.

We had a two night stay, in two different rooms. The first was an accessible room located next to the extremely noisy lift. Needless to say we had no sleep. This shouldn't be used as a guest room due to this unacceptable noise. Our second was a standard room, which was quiet - until the yobbo in the next room started blaring out his TV at midnight, which woke us up. This may indicate thin walls, which is not a good combination when twinned with selfish guests without consideration for other people. ||The other major problem was the lack of telephones in the room - all communication with the front desk is via a tablet/iPad. I love technology and am very adept at using it, but this is not at all convenient or practical when needing to ask a quick question (eg please send more toilet paper), or at 1am when requesting that someone comes to deal with the noise from the next room. Having to locate the tablet, glasses, etc before typing in the middle of the night when you're exhausted is terrible customer service. It also seems like a safety hazard in the event someone can't operate the iPad in an emergency. ||We gave up on the TV as it's not a case of just turning it on and selecting a (free to air) channel. It requires downloading apps and other nonsense.||On a brighter note, the lady in the breakfast room was very pleasant and helpful, and it is well located for the Capitol Theatre and Central train station. However, the bad things definitely outweigh the good in this instance, so I will never stay there again or recommend this to...
