We went there as it was almost the the only open place in town. The welcome was already not as friendly as we are used to it in Australia. We were thinking of trying a good wine from Tasmania and orderd one bottle for 42 A$ (at check out 44 A$). Unfortunately the bottle we got was very warm and when I asked for ice cubes they didn't have them so we drank a way to warm bottle of wine. Despite that we ordered food (which was actually the price not worth it) but I received the wrong pizza. For me not a problem at all but I told the waitress that I am going to pay only the price for the pizza I actually ordered. I ate almost half of the pizza when the waitress came and assumed me of ordering the wrong pizza and now the chef wants to bake the actual ordered pizza or otherwise I have to pay the one on my plate (which was quite more expensive). They wanted to throw away the rest of the pizza and I had to wait for the new one while my friend was almost done with eating. Very unprofessional and unethical throwing away food! I cannot even believe their behavior after that. It was not even 9 pm (closing time) and they started to talk about us behind the counter and we really felt we have to leave the place immediately. Really sad as we wanted to order desert and we were still talking to other guests. The little town has really not many dinner places but we would def not go...

My family and myself went to the Food & Brew in Bicheno on 29th Dec looking on the internet for a italian restaurant we booked a table but only to find that it had changed hands and now was a cafe as we didnt like to cancel we stayed and was served the most terrible meals apart from one.As regular dinners we have never had meals this bad. I ordered crayfish sliders only to recieve a hamburger bun with 2 morsels of crayfish and wilted lettuce my partner ordered fish of the moment and didnt receive his meal until one hour later after our's they had forgotten his meal . When he finally received it the salmon was raw we certainally know how salmon is cooked some pinkness but not raw fish. My son ordered the mushroom pizza it came with the bottom soggy and not cooked it was unedible my daughter in law ordered the spaghetti it was the only meal to be eaten I have never complained at any restaurant as i know it is a hard job and i always have an understanding of that but this is unexceptable when i talked to the waitress she had said the waitress that took our order stated we had not placed a order for the fish no need to lie i was offered free meals and drinks but i paid for our drinks and the spaghetti. I wonder how all the reviews online are so positive or did the chefs just have a bad night. I would not recommend this Cafe to anyone pity as we need to showcase...

This place was the ONLY bad thing about our trip in Tasmania. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

We were informed that due some reservations the food would take a bit longer to be ready, but it shouldn’t take more than 20 min. It sounded good for us and we sat outside. Time flew and when I realized we were waiting for 1h. I went back inside and tried to be as polite and understanding as I could. I told the waitress (seemed to be a supervisor or owner, not sure) that I knew how busy they were, but we were told 20 min and it was taking more than 1h. Suddenly I got the following response: “I don’t think anyone told you 20 min”. I repeated that it was what her colleague said and once again: “nobody told you 20 min”. She basically called a liar and asked her colleague in front of me about it. The other waitress confirmed and said that the chef told her 20min. The “supervisor” did even say sorry and asked: “do you just want your cash back?”. By disappointment I said yes because the restaurant next door was just about to close and it would be our only option in that tiny town and we had to rush there. Only when she gave me the same back the word sorry came out of her mouth. We could have waited a bit longer if she was at least polite and knew how to treat people.

I don’t recommend this place if you driving through beautiful Bicheno. Go somewhere where people know how to treat...

Went there a couple weeks ago while on holidays and wow! Was amazing! Went back again for breakfast and dinner the following day, that’s how good it was. Staff are super friendly and food comes out fairly fast (most of the time, had the coffee almost after we finished our food which was disappointing as other people came and went with coffee). The dinning was nice and had nice decor but a little noisy from the big group near us (not their fault and wasn’t too bad) Food was absolutely delicious. We shared the carbonara and garlic pizza both times for dinner and the combo was amazing. For breakfast had the eggs Benedict with hash browns which were nice but asked for bacon and still received ham which was unfortunate too. Wish they were open longer of a night or weekend as they would do well. Closing kitchen at 7:30 is a bad for business honestly.

Very friendly owner who helped us with getting some small change, because we were staying right next door at the Holiday Park and we needed some coins to power the washing machine. And so we decided to have dinner here the next day. Absolutely loved the food, the cosy atmosphere and all around service at this place. All the wait staff were so bubbly and cheerful and we could tell it was definitely a locals' spot with many returning patrons. Probably the liveliest place in Bicheno at night. Delicious traditional wood-fired pizzas, succulent and juicy burger, pork chop was grilled to perfection and paired with an innovative beetroot hummus and balsamic glaze. Food was so good we decided to takeaway an extra pizza for supper!

We ordered the spaghetti bolognese and the seafood chowder for a quick bite, I was quite disappointed with the seafood chowder. There weren’t many types of seafood in there both in variety and amount, the waiter didn’t seem to know what exactly was in it when it was served. When I had the chowder, I could taste the clumps of flour that was not cooked properly. The mussel (singular) was overcooked and became hard to chew. The chowder had very little flavour and under seasoned. The only redeeming point was the sourdough bread, however there was no butter at all. The spaghetti was not only very plain, the meat also tasted a bit interesting, could’ve done a better job myself (plus it costed $23, this is just such a rip off)
