We recently visited Fenway with a group of six, and unfortunately, the experience was marred by how they handled a serious allergy situation. One person in our group has multiple food allergies and, as a result, doesn’t typically eat out. She brought her own simple meal of chicken and rice to ensure she could join us safely. Despite us sitting outside at a table on the sidewalk (part of their licensed area), two different staff members rudely insisted she couldn't eat her own food.
While we understand policies around "outside food," the lack of empathy was shocking. One staff member even offered to store the food in the fridge, which contradicts their claim that health regulations prevent her from eating it on the premises. If it was truly a health issue, why suggest putting the food in their fridge? It felt like they were more interested in enforcing rules than understanding the needs of a customer with allergies.
It’s disappointing that Fenway could not make a reasonable accommodation for someone with dietary restrictions, especially when she was there to socialise, not to dine on their menu. We would have appreciated a bit more understanding and compassion in...
Read moreNice to see this place open. Not much in the way of changes inside from when it was Paddy's/Mooneys but it's much cleaner and different pictures on the walls too. Staff were all friendly and it had a nice vibe the day we visited.
Ordered a Hickory smoked bloody Mary which was good, but not the best I've ever had. Lots of garnish on top, but no way to drink it so had to head back to the bar to ask for a straw. Bit pricey at $18, not sure if have another.
Food. Had the Bullitt burger and it was delicious!! Definitely a winner. My partner had the Larry Bird chicken sandwich and that was asking too, so top marks on food, and it came out quickly too. Will definitely come back to try more on the menu.
Only niggle I had was the chips. None with my burger but I asked for them with the Larry Bird (extra). They came out from the kitchen cold but the sandwich and burger were piping hot. It says hand cut chips but they look like frozen out of a bag to me. Nothing major, just opening issues they should be ironing out and the staff seemed to want the feedback when they asked how everything was.
Will be back as the burger...
Read moreThe first time I went to Fenway a couple months prior, my burger pattie was raw. I went up and they had understandably made a new one which then entitled a 30-40 minute wait for the remake. They had informed me it was the newbie, of course that is fair enough. My friend I was with had a chicken burger where the meat was also raw but they powered through it regardless.
However, I felt the need to write this review as I had gone back today with another friend and these events transpired. Not only was her burger raw to the point of bleeding, mine the same, the glass I had received my drink from was dirty, a lip stick stain and everything. Not including the crack down the side of it. The remake took another 20-30 minutes and even then we were to grossed out to continue to stay. Of course, credit where credits was due, we were offered a partial refund.
We still needed to go to hungry jacks for a corrective experience. It appears burnt out apathetic teenagers are more reliable to handle your food.
Overall though, please retrain your staff members if need be as these experiences are...
