I love Gelare and have been to this Gelare for years. I do not know what happened today. There was one gentleman working on his own. Myself and 2 friends placed our orders… there was no one else at this point. Then all of a sudden there was a small line. This gentleman then went into some sort of a crazy mental breakdown or something. He started abusing customers. Arguing with customers and had the strangest demeanour. So condescending and became so outright rude. Even though he wrote down our orders, he couldn’t remember our orders. Gave me the wrong ice cream flavour even though I watched him write down exactly what I wanted correctly. Then when he handed me the waffle with the wrong flavour, he said nope, “you said vanilla, I’m not giving you another flavour” I was like, WOW but you wrote down Chocolate on your order sheet???? I could see he wasn’t stable so I didn’t want to argue and told my friend, just have the vanilla. He then went over and asked us what our coffee order was, then when we repeated it to him. He then “gaslighted” us to sound like we were the rude ones even though he asked us what our order was again. He seemed so confused and so I said, “you wrote my order down, have a look so I don’t confuse you again” Then he breaks out saying “i’m doing my best here, why would I ask you for your order if I had it written down”
I was just so confused, other’s in the line were all just so flabbergasted. I told him, I own a cafe, I feel for you but this is not how you handle this situation. I am the most introverted, non-confrontational person but wow, this made me speak up!
Please, if you are the owner… take care of your staff. Put someone else on. He was under pressure and he took it out on everyone. Or if you were the owner that served me today, you need to take a break man…. That wasn’t healthy and I know many people in hospitality that have been taken to...

Edited with detail as requested: I visited the morley galleria store this afternoon around 4.20pm I ordered 2 Kids sized cone with two flavours and was charged $17.50. If the man hadn’t already handed the icecream to my kids I would have walked away, they were already melting down the cone and tasted like they had melted and refrozen with that gritty granulated texture.
When I question the price he laughed and said he had to charge for the two flavours. Sure I understand, but the serving was no bigger and I am happy to pay for a decent product but they looked revolting. He even offered me napkins as they dripped everywhere when I walked off.

We ordered and waited 20-30 minutes without the buzzer going off and when I went to inquire about the unusually long wait the 2 gentleman there, only then noticed the docket (only one btw) hanging there . IT WAS NOT EVEN BUSY, THERE WAS ONLY 2 CUSTOMERS INCLUDING MYSELF. I didn’t even get an apology from the person who served me.
