The Coffee Club Café — Restaurant in Western Australia

CONSTANTLY DISAPPOINTING! It has been quite sometime since I have been so frustrated and annoyed to be driven to writing a rubbish review about a business but this place has finally got to me.

I have been a longtime fan of Coffee Club when I first discovered it in QLD, back before it was even operating in WA. That said, it is important to understand that my issue is with THIS STORE ONLY. I used to work across the road and now I live there and this place continues to fail me. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. And I have been silly enough to go back almost 8 times now.

The staff lack enthusiasm, have at times even ignored my presence until it suits them (because they are busy chatting amongst themselves) and are often just plain rude.

The food is substandard especially compared to all the other CCs I've been to. My most recent purchase, a ham & cheese croissant, came out over cooked. This may have been due to the cook standing around playing on her phone instead of keeping an eye on the toaster/grill. Chips? Oh and don't make the mistake of ordering chips to take away. I did that the time before and was asked if I wanted small or large. I said small and received a styrofoam burger box with 8 fries in it - yes EIGHT only! Wish I'd taken a pic of that to upload. When I questioned the staff member who took my order she said "you asked for a small, that's our standard side serve. What did you expect for $4.00?". Prior to that, I took the Mr there for breakfast one morning and he steadfastly refuses to go back. Bacon is his favourite food and he up and left before even finishing it, frustrated he stormed out ranting like a crazy man "How do you f* up bacon? Just how?". Fair call I think.

Lastly, and this is what really pushed me over the edge, I have received 2 flyers in my mailbox since becoming a city resident in March. The flyers state that Coffee Club Adelaide Terrace is open until 4pm Monday to Friday and until 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. LIES, LIES, LIES! I walked passed there just yesterday (which was a Wednesday) and the place was locked up tighter and darker than a prison at 3pm and in the 8 weeks I have been living here, I have not seen that cafe still open, let alone serving coffee, at 3pm on the weekend.

So, are you wondering yet why I even gave this business 2 stars? The coffee is OK even if it's pricey; it will get you through if you are desperate. Oh and I once got a really nice toasted sandwich there and another time I got served by a really cool, upbeat waiter. He was awesome but given how good he was, he probably doesn't work...

The gave me something that i didnt order. the food was super cold and I saw few some cockroaches around the place. Absolutely disgusting. (2 weeks ago)

I didnt receive the order from Uber today that I order with them and I called them, a nice lady and really supportive explained the steps that i have to follow and I did. Thanks about that.

However, the owner called me really angry and he wanted to talk about about the issue from 2 weeks ago. He said that if I received the wrong order is my fault etc etc.

He is the kind of owners that thinks that the problem came from the customer. Terrible customer services from his side. When a customer put a complaint, you should listen and not be angry with the customer instead you should try to find a solution. If the staff has any problems, you can give some training and solve the problem. But in this case, the one that need a training is the owner.

About the cockroaches, is that our problem as a customers too?

Thanks for your call. As customer I was unhappy with the services but I got a call from the owner and I was expecting any compensation, or at list an apologize, a sorry that is a basic word. Instead after listen to a angry boss by phone, at the end of the call I got super Unhappy. ...

My son and I had lunch here on Sunday, July 23rd July 2023. I never go to Coffee Club as I feel they are overpriced for poor food, but on this occasion, it was just the only option available bear by after the photography expo at the Novatel Hotel. Anyway my son had a chocolate Frappe ans big breakfast, I had the Mango smoothie with the veggie big breakfast (a bizarre mix of cold and hot food) why would you not cook tomatoes or spinach with a hot breakfast? Avocado cold, I can understand. The next day, I started to feel unwell. For 5 days, I had severe food poisoning. This was the worst case possible. I dropped 2.4 kg in the first 24 hours and a total of 5.1kg all up. Severe dehydration as I couldn't even stomach water. My son contacted me on Tuesday asking if I was u well, and he had been severely sick all day the Monday and unable to get out of bed. Safe to say we will never visit a Coffee Club ever again, even if it is a last resort or our only option, next time I'll drive hours to find an alternative food option...
