We were craving for some asian noodle soup, and this was just 2 blocks from our hotel!
The place is pretty small but love that they had quite an extensive menu of noodles and dumplings! The serving for fried dough fritters is pretty huge; we didn't eat that but we saw someone ordering that.
We ordered: Dried mushroom minced pork noodles - so delicious, the sauce for the noodles is otherworldly. The minced pork could be more but otherwise the portion is huge for my mum.
Pork dumpling noodle soup - Love the soup mildly flavoured with sesame oil. The dumplings are so naturally flavourful; it's not saltish at all. The noodles might be abit plain when its in the soup but you can dip it some vinegar and chilli oil provided at the condiments area.
I was tempted to order the shredded potato (cold dish) 土豆丝 but we were so full from our individual dishes.
What we like the most is that they provide bottles of cold water. Just head to the fridge to grab a bottle and there are self-serve enamel mugs in the cutest designs! Also, the condiments bar is free-flow. What's not to love? Saw lots of Asians and singaporeans while we were there too!
Note: avoid peak periods of lunch and dinner as it might...
Read moreBeen recently craving for dumplings and noodles. I usually go to the popular spot in Northbridge along William St that always has a line, but they were closed that particular Tuesday. But I remembered about this hidden gem in East Perth so went I go for lunch.
I haven’t been back in a while and I know the Dan Dan Noodle was really nice. But after recently been going to some other spots, I can confirm that this is definitely still one of the nicest (if not THE nicest) noodle & dumplings place in town.
I had the Dan Dan Noodle, Wonton in Chilli Oil and the pickled cucumbers. My wife had the pork & mushroom dry noodle.
We absolutely love all the dishes we had. All of them are BOLD in flavour! Much much more flavourful than their competitors.
I also had the braised tea egg (not pictured). I didn’t expect much but even that was extra flavourful. And for $2, you really gotta have one of them.
Service is not the friendliest but one you would expect from an authentic asian restaurant. IYKYK. Not that they are rude, they just straight up serve you. I like that!
Place is buzzing. Definitely try to get here early as it gets packed...
