3.5 stars Good for a quick and cheaper meal. Venue: In front of Cat Bus stop. Street parking. Causel setting. Cozy vibe. Clean and tidy. Large Self-service area besides the front desk - -- 7.3/10 Service: Find a seat, grab the menu at the front desk, or read it the window outside. Order and pay at the front desk. Food served fast. Tap water, serveitte, utensils, seasonings, and toothpicks are available at the self-service area. Staff are nice. --- 7/10 Food: Standard presentation. Normal portion but not very consistent. Reasonable good prices. Noodles served faster than drinks. Drinks are takeaway formats. Foochow Zao-cai Noodles Soup, $17.9: There are 2 big whole prawns with shells, wood ear mushrooms, and a lot of pork slices. The texture of pork was silky. Rice noodles were broken. Good portion of soup --- 6.7/10 Kolo Mee (original/black/red), $12.9: very large portion of noodles. The orignal noodles were full of aroma. There are minced pork, BBQ pork, fish cakes, and small portions of choy sum and spring onions. BBQ pork was dry, but ok for this price. --- 7/10 Pearl Milk Tea, $6.9: ok. WANTONS & NOODLES 🥟🍜 // Checked out a relatively new Malaysian Restaurant - TeaWoks on Hay Street (opened in Dec’18; located very near to People’s Inn Dumplings - there’s an apartment entrance just between them) in the Perth CBD and was unexpectedly impressed. Menu on @perthfoodmenu (Instagram)

With very reasonable prices and delicious, fresh food - I’m really happy to get my Sarawakian kampua noodles (aud8.90) cravings satisfied within the city. The roast pork skin was crispy, BBQ pork was just a little fatty and succulent, noodles were springy - my personal preference is noodles that is thinner but theirs is good enough.

The highlight though is their wanton soup (aud8) which comes with nine pork wantons and a flavoursome broth. The restaurant owners hail from Sibu, Sarawak and they make the wanton skins themselves.

My friend had the combination rice: chicken rice with sliced BBQ pork and roast pork (aud10.50). I sampled a bit of the chicken rice but found it too dry and lacking in flavour - no aromatic ginger or garlic smell - something they can improve on. Will be back to try more dishes!

P.S They make a variety of bubble...

I ordered the kampua, red with extra fried egg and kopi cham(hot).

The kampua was great. The meat(roast pork and bbq pork) and fried egg(crispy edges) was authentic.

However the kopi cham (hot) came 10 minutes after I finished my meal. Half way through my meal I went and ask the taller server to check on my kopi cham. But she must have forgotten. Then 10 minutes after I finished my meal I asked a different server. Turns out my kopi cham has been sitting on the made drinks counter the whole time. The server handed the drink to me and told me it must have been forgotten.

I took one sip and it was ...cold. I asked for it to be remade because i paid the extra and ordered a kopi cham (hot). The drinks staff microwaved the kopi and then handed back to me saying: "here, taste if hot enough"

That is the reason tea woks has received a one star for service. No recognition the drink has been forgotten. The microwave drink especially for paying at a shop seems unreasonable and it was not a fault of mine.
