Japanese Bento House (Korean) — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

One of the best places to eat in Wollongong guaranteed! Japanese Bento House is located just across the street from Gelatissimo - unassuming at first, the couple who run the small store are very friendly and the food is delicious. It is one of the only places in Wollongong that I have eaten and come back time and time again. If you dine in, you get appetisers that are very addictive - potato and vegetarian pancake. All my friends are obsessed with this casual dining space, although it is small for a group larger than 6 people, Bento House has a variety of options for any picky eater. The sushi here is also very good. I got the Kimchi Hotpot with Rice, and it is just the right amount of spicy and sweet, and the thinly sliced pork is delicious. This place is my best kept secret (not really I tell everyone I know about it). I've been coming here since a kid - at least 8 years ago. It's the best Sushi I have ever had and I used to travel from Sydney to eat it. If you're in Wollongong on holidays and don't visit this place for lunch - you are missing out. I constantly look forward to coming here. If I could eat it every day of the week I would. If you visit, make sure you order the House Potato and Vegetable Pancake. You receive them as free 'entrees' when you order sushi (as well as a free miso soup) so you will get to try them anyway - they are the most delicious thing I've ever tasted... make sure to dip the pancake in the sauce the potato is in! This is my 5th visit and I feel the urge to write a review on this little house. I tried many different dishes and today I tried spicy silken Tofu soup with home made kimchi. The silken Tofu soup 순두부 had its authentic rich and spicy flavour which reminded me of my hometown in Korea. The freshly made kimchi was so yummy too.
