I recently visited The Gong Café in Wollongong, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The café has a cozy, welcoming vibe with friendly staff that make you feel right at home. I ordered their iced coffee and carrot cake, and both were fantastic. The iced coffee was perfectly balanced—not too sweet, with a smooth, rich coffee flavor that hit the spot on a warm day. It was refreshing and served just right. As for the carrot cake, it was divine! Moist and fluffy, with the perfect hint of spices and a creamy frosting that wasn't overpowering. Each bite felt like a little slice of heaven. If you're in Wollongong and looking for a great spot to relax with a coffee and treat, The Gong Café should definitely be on your list. Highly recommended!

Lovely Cafe. They did some renovations, or new owners.. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There was an old lady who wanted her bread toasted in a press, the waiter explained that they don't have a press, but he can try pressing it with a spatula in a pan. He went and came back with a pressed toast, the lady was happy. 😊 My avo toast was alright, my partner was super happy with his eggs Benny. 🥚 Sorry no food photos haha Check out my insta cafejaney

Absolute gem of a cafe, from the service to the price of the food to the quality of the food, can’t get a better cafe in Wollongong! The coffee was exceptional and the hash browns are the best I’ve ever eaten in my life. In particular staff Susmita was fantastic, she has such a warm and welcoming personality, she gives the cafe a 5/5 experience!

Unfortunately, I won't be back here. I did enjoy the B&E roll too. I have been coming here for the last two days and have ordered flat white and b&e roll with BBQ sauce. The girl on the counter was prickly and not welcoming, smiling and being pleasant are overrated anyway, but I can put up with that because the b&e roll was OK. However, today there was a different girl, and I was charged $15, when all week I have been charged $11. I didn't notice until too late when I tapped my phone and asked why was the price $15 and I was told "because I ordered from the menu" I explained that I had been getting the same order all week and only charged $11 and she said "..thats the special board and you ordered from the menu." I ordered what I had been ordering all week, I asked for take away, and didn't even look at the menu. I asked what the difference is between the $11 order and the $15 order she looked amused and smirked and said "nothing." This annoyed me that a local cafe would blatantly rip me off and then smirk about it and not offer me a refund of the $4, but think it funny that I was charged more. I immediatley asked for my money back and told them this was a rip off. Thankfully, I received a cash refund without any hesitation but why not admit fault and offer to give me back my $4. Instead, you smirked and smiled like you were amused, hahah you've been...

Came here a few weeks ago and got eggs Benny. Unfortunately, the sauce was awful to the point I tried to scrap it off my food, but I couldn't eat more than a third of the meal.

I let the waitress / Maybe owner, know, and I asked if they used margarine as the taste was so off. She insisted that butter was used, which makes me think it may have been rancid.

The staff member was defensive and not particularly apologetic, which for un edable food is poor, and I felt I should not have been charged.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews, when I realised someone else had also described a rancid eggs Benny experience in a review, and the fact the I found the staff reaction a bit rude, I've decided to leave this feedback.

Hopefully the business can check their butter or how they make the holdanise properly, because they was something wrong...
