Your experience may differ depending on the meals or how they'll have been made. As the staff ask for feedback to the food, I'll go into more detail.
The dishes I ordered (28 Euro): Soup of the Day (Pumpkin Soup) Penne Arrabbiata Potato Salad
To start with something nice, I was asked by the waiter about the food and after I mentioned that I wasn't quite fond of the potato salad, I was offered a free coffee, as well as for some more detailed feedback, as the flyer with a QR code sent me here.
Main Dish: The penne was very underwhelming, its sauce was too watery and had little to no taste - and there wasn't enough of it to make one taste enough by putting more onto the fork either. The only delicious experience was when one of the sliced garlic cloves ended up on the fork. The dish was also garnished with chili flakes - which also ended up being the meals only determinal source of spice.
The potato salad follows its main dish, as the potatoes too had no flavour (and my salt mill ran out of salt.). There was a mention of mustard in the dish's name but I couldnt taste any. The slices of potatoes lie in a bowl with some watery 'sauce' (?) that looks a bit like residue water at its bottom. The only thing of discernible taste were the diced onion pieces but the lack of sauce made the freshly cut onions taste a bit too unpleasant as well (i.e. their chemical burning sensation), although I welcomed it at that point. As the potato slices were also hard and brittle, they would break if you tried to poke them with the fork, making eating difficult.
The reason I kept the soup for last is that I initially didnt want to include it - it seems to be seasonal, in my case being October, it was pumpkin soup - I'm normally not really fond of pumpkin, and I had forgotten to ask about the type of soup before ordering, which is completely on me - so it was a surprise that I thought it was quite decent (and also pretty). They also give you a small slice of freshly baked bread, which was sadly a bit small, as I really enjoyed the smell and taste of it together with the soup.
Additional info: As it's in an airport, plugs exist for bench seats, but not every table has them - if you need to charge, and it's a full house, they'll guide you to a free table and you thus should mention that you need to. I luckily...
Read moreThe dining experience was highly disappointing, and unfortunately, it was due to the exceptionally poor service we encountered. The culinary aspect was indeed superb - the flavors were rich and the food was cooked to perfection. Every bite was a testament to the skill and finesse of the chef who had carefully crafted our meal.
However, the incredible food was grossly overshadowed by the insensitivity and outright rudeness of the staff. When we made a simple request to split our bill, it was met with a surprising lack of professionalism. The response we received was, "We are extremely busy, sir, you'll have to wait," uttered with a tone that was harsh and completely uncalled for. The service industry is about providing a satisfying experience for the patrons, but on this occasion, the waitstaff seemed to have forgotten this vital aspect of their role.
To add to our disappointment, when we chose not to tip due to the unacceptable service, the waiter's demeanor shifted drastically. His face became tense and hostile, further demonstrating the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy that should be integral to any customer service position.
Lastly, to our surprise, we were not given a receipt, an essential document that serves as proof of payment and is crucial for a transparent transaction. We left the restaurant feeling disrespected and dismayed, in stark contrast to the satisfaction we felt after enjoying the excellent cuisine.
In summary, while the food at this establishment is outstanding, the level of service we experienced was far below par. This behavior is not only disappointing but unacceptable in a dining environment. I hope the management takes this feedback to heart and rectifies the issues, ensuring future diners do not have to endure a...
Read moreWe had to wait until about 12:00 until the restaurant opened which was different to the website opening times. As we were on a connecting flight and therefore tight schedule that was a bit disappointing! Having said that we were seated very well in a comfortable location. And then the experience began. Martin was our waiter and came across initially as fast and efficient. We ordered and chose a bottle of red wine with our mains. He didn’t seem over enamoured with our choice and asked about our taste preferences. He suggested two other wines we may prefer. I am always sceptical of the upsell so Martin provided sample tasters for us whilst and left us to choose while skilfully attending all the other tables on his section. We had large beers to finish and agreed a signal with him before he put our order through. The food was great (schnitzels) the wine was great and the banter/atmosphere created was memorable. All the tables around us appeared to be happy with a couple of girls particularly laughing because they didn’t say stop for the grated Parmesan so Martin kept going until one had the Matterhorn on her pasta. Thanks Jamie and great thanks to Martin for making a long travel day...
