Kirby's American Kitchen — Restaurant in Graz

I'm an American living in Europe (for a looong time now), and was presently surprised by this little restaurant. The food truly tastes American (something I usually can't claim in other European "American" restaurants), and their selection has some more uncommon items such as Poke and sweet potato fries. Even after living in Munich (certainly more metropolitan than Graz) for almost five years now, this is so far my favorite place in Europe to get a good burger.

Everything I've had so far has been excellent; juicy (!) burgers that aren't overcooked (which is my usual complaint in Europe), great sweet potato fries, great chili-cheese fries, good ribs (though my parents found them to be too peppery), and great homemade lemonade (NOT "limonade", but actual freshly squeezed lemon juice + sugar + water lemonade). The bacon on my burger was slightly underdone for American standards, but that just seems to be the European way to cook it. Otherwise no complaints, except that the prices could be lower, I guess (but can't that always be said?). Certainly worth the price, though. Visited Thursday late afternoon and we barely got a place for two, so reservations are basically a must. That has two reasons, firstly the restaurant is small and secondly it is fantastic. The furniture and decor is nice, staff is super friendly and quick, the beer specialities are really good and somewhat exotic and last but not least the food is delicious. My friend had a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, which he really liked, but I decided against a burger because I never had Spicy Ahi Poke and Kirbys is the only place in Graz I've ever seen it on the menu so I had to try it and I wasn't disappointed. The Spicy sauce was very spicy, so I only used a small amount but otherwise the taste was amazing, you probably have to be into sushi to like it, but I will definitely go there again soon. Overall Kirbys definitely attracts a younger crowd, I'd say it's a bit of a Hipster-place, but hey that's not a bad thing and the fantastic food makes me recommend it...

Kirby’s offers an amazing selection of craft beers and true American comfort food. The tuna poke crisps are a must try! The bacon burger was among the beefiest and straight-up most satisfying bun and beef combinations out there, without question. It tastes like nothing else out there in many ways and was cooked a perfect medium, and the seasoning was nothing short of flawless. I also had chili-cheese fries to join the burger- they are warm, nicely seasoned and crispy topped with perfectly mouth-watering melted chili and cheese.
