I made reservation TWICE months ago through their website. Why I had to do it twice is because there was no confirmation email after I made the first reservation. I thought maybe it’s because the time I made the reservation was too early and they will confirm me when the date gets closer (no, it’s pure rudeness as my experience concluded later). I gave it around one-month wait then I started to doubt whether I input my information incorrectly so the email never arrived (checked and not in spam). Then I made the second reservation and still no confirmations. I also even tried to email the restaurant asking whether it is confirmed but no feedback. I ignored all these red flags and chose to go on the day supposedly I made the reservation based on the good reviews (and it’s a bad decision). They have the most unwelcoming reception. I stood there for like 3mins and no one approached me asking if I need any help or if I am waiting to be seated or something. The staff who carried a reservation notebook looked at me but chose to ignore. I had to wave at him then he came with an “argh” face. When I tried to tell him that I made a reservation online, he arrogantly shook his head and said “no you didn’t” without asking for the name I put on reservation. I told myself it’s okay no need to get upset about anything and was ready to leave. Then surprisingly he said they have a seat in the terrace and of course I happily accepted. And the nightmare didn’t just end there. Once seated, the waitress was kind but told me they haven’t got an English menu, which is a shock given they are quite well-known in town and not every international guest reads German. But it’s okay, I got by using iPhone’s Translate app. There were two salad choices and I am completely sure that I didn’t miscommunicate. One was a salad with pear-walnut chutney (which I ordered) and the other one was the classic Caesars. The waitress even double confirmed with me that I wanted the one with chutney. But guess what..The caesars salad came. Even worse, it was so windy in the terrace. The menu sheet got blown away, the plants were rolling around on the floor, the door was banging over and over. 10 seconds after my drink was put on the table, it was covered by giant dusts (some black particles). Their food was just normal, no need to mention the service. I couldn’t believe all of the above can happen in a high rated restaurant. Also a lesson learnt for myself, just walk out / don’t go if you feel unwelcomed in the first place. The one star I give is...
Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into Restaurant Lichtblick, I was captivated. The staff were wonderfully accommodating, setting the stage for what would be an unforgettable dining experience. Their particular attention to solo diners like myself made the evening even more enjoyable, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
The food at Lichtblick is beyond comparison - each dish is not only cooked to perfection but also carries an innovative flair that sets it apart from anything else in the area. The taste is memorable, a testament to the creativity and skill that goes into each plate.
But the experience isn’t limited to the palate alone. The stunning views from the restaurant add a visual delight to the entire affair. Paired with the gentle background music that encourages contemplation without being intrusive, the ambiance is nothing short of perfect.
However, the only slight drawback was the limited options for wine by the glass. More variety here would further elevate the dining experience.
In conclusion, Restaurant Lichtblick offers an unparalleled dining experience with its welcoming staff, innovative menu, and breathtaking views. It’s an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking a...

A wonderful view of the city from a vantage point - alas a bit disturbed by some of the newer higher buildings.
The food was ok and plentiful. Interesting menu combinations and it was ok to switch dishes between menus.
The soup was way too salty and rather inedible - and one would expect some reaction at around 7 euros a plate.
A bit pricey and for that money i expect things to be rarher perfect, which alas they were not.
It took them a bit long to finally bring us the bill, and then it had mistakes in it. From other comments here it seems they add the tip automatically. I must admit the bill seemed a bit high, but it was not easy to see details in the dark. So the 18 Euro tip we gave was obviously excessive.
All in all ok but not really the wow experience would would have hoped for the...
