Insbruck tourist centrum offers free taxi for tourist. Infortunatelly is connected with taxi services Tommy taxi. If you call to tommy taxi and speak english, they tell you: German only ! and close the call. So you cannot use this service if you dont speak german. From.our hotel reception they called there, 3 drivers were absolutelly perfect, one totally crazy. He wanted let my son sit on unroped snowbord - i told him 1 day before we putted to the snowbord back without neccesarity to put seat down - he refused. I told him he should rope the anowboards, otherwise it can kill my child sitting next to it. He refused. Than he attacked me and left. I started video after his attack - how arogantly letting us and leaving. Than we went to Barcelona and again back to Insbruck - 2 times used taxi no problem. Thirs day taxi refused take us - this was this driver. I was never faced agains this kind is behaviour by any service supported by any city in Europe, but I understand no-speaking German mean we are people of second category and they must show us. I believe - to search service with no English speaking dispeching must be really hard in Europe 2025. Sorry but this is nothing else than little racism agains people not from Germany,...
Read moreWe had an amazing time in Innsbruck with so many friendly and welcoming folks. However I would like to highlight an unpleasant incident involving the information counter at Innsbruck main train station that marred our impression of the city. We made some purchases at Swarovski Crystal world and the helpful staff there guided us to get a departure stamp for tax refund at the information counter at the station. We approached the information counter upon leaving Innsbruck around 3pm on 22 Feb. The staff at the counter told me curtly that they do not process tax refunds, I continued to ask him where can I claim the refunds and he said I don't know and we only provide train information. I happen to have a question on my OBB train ticket and asked him about it. He gave me the answer which have been good for me. He then proceeded to make eye contact with the 2 staff manning the travel desk and car rental, spoke in German and all 3 of them started laughing while staring at me. I don't understand German but this gesture is really rude and even demeaning to me. I do hope someone looks into this matter as it affects the image of Innsbruck as they are the very faces representing the city...
Read moreWe visited this tourist information center on June 14th morning. At first, we asked a younger counter staff about how to use the Innsbruck Card and most convenient parking location, but her service attitude and tone were very reluctant. After gathering information at the center, I tried my luck to another staff member (Kaisu) for consultation. She was very friendly and shared the travel information with me. Additionally, looking at the time, she suggested that we can consider visiting the nearby Goldens Dachl, having lunch and then return to the center before 1pm to join a guided walking tour. After that, walk to the cable car center nearby to go to Nordkettenbahnen. Thanks to Kaisu's friendly sharing, our family had a perfect day in Innsbruck. If I have the chance to go back again, I must remember to bring a small gift to thank her. Noted: The city tour guide on that day was very professional and...
