For an authentic Salzburg experience, you can’t miss Konditorei Fürst, the legendary patisserie where the Mozartkugel was born. Created in 1890 by Paul Fürst, this delicate chocolate treat consists of a pistachio marzipan center, coated in nougat, and encased in a layer of rich dark chocolate. Unlike the mass-produced versions, Fürst’s Mozartkugeln are still handmade using the original recipe, making them a true Salzburg specialty. The Konditorei’s small but charming café is a delightful place to sit and savor one of these iconic chocolates, along with a cup of Austrian coffee. Every bite is a perfect harmony of nutty, creamy, and chocolatey flavors—just like a Mozart symphony.

Fürst is First. I didn't know that there are several companies that make Mozartkugel confections, until I have visited Salzburg. Only there I have discovered that the first company who creates Mozartkugel was the company Fürst and only Fürst's Mozartkugel confection is the ORIGINAL one. I have tasted it and I like it very much. So when I return to home I decided to buy it online. It took several days to get item in Prague, Czech Republic. I bought "assorted house specialities gift box". There are several type candies there, including original Mozartkugel. They have premium taste. I really enjoy. Fürst is a high class Cafe Konditorei. Recommended!

At Café Konditorei, I found some wonderful Austrian pastries to enjoy with my espresso in Salzburg, just a few blocks from my hotel. I had just finished touring Mirabelle Palace and Gardens and found this great little café right across the street. Both of these pastries feature almonds. I am a nut for nuts. One has a coating of dark chocolate and the other is filled with a coffee cream. Everything in the case looks so delicious it was hard to limit myself just to two. I was going to be eating dinner in a few hours after all. Try it! You won’t be disappointed. Café-Konditorei was established in 1884. Delicious treat at my sidewalk table.

The counter attendant was extremely rude with me since the moment I came in. I entered this place and asked for the famous Mozart balls. She just stared at me with an inpatient face and then said in a not very nice way: you have to tell me how many!!! Then I told her I wanted three and also would like to drink a hot chocolate. In the moment I said this she yelled at me in front of the other clients: SIT DOWN AND THE WAITER WILL COME TO YOU! This was really embarrassing and unbelievable. A few moments later other clients came in (who could speak German) and she was very kind and patient. Don't understand how can someone behave like this in a tourist place. Right now I just checked the bill and saw that she charged me for something I didn't buy (it was not cheap). Really...

How unfortunate, two American tourist went into this establishment to purchase two of the famous confection balls at €1.30 each. The counter attendant ( a middle aged lady), spoke curtly the whole time as my wife struggled to make her request in German. I lived here for three years and am capable in the language and was guiding in her valiant attempt. The order was clear and the elderly lady placed two Fürst balls on the counter and took the €10.00 note. My wife thanked her in German and proceeded to the door. At the door my wife noted that she was shorted €5.00's. When she turned around, the elder attendant without prompting spoke English and put the €5.00 note on the counter. If it spells like fish.... I will not shop there again and recommend you...
