bistro deppat — Restaurant in Vienna

For years I've been lamenting the lack of good vegan breakfast options in Vienna, and this place is everything I wanted and more! The menu ranges from pretty regular breakfast fare to more special items, and I loved everything I tried so far! The Camembert bagel was awesome, with a delightful combination of flavors, and I also loved the egg and bacon bagel. The chocolate banana pancakes were delicious (the sauce was actually very chocolatey, not just Nutella or artifically flavored). My highlight was the sweet waffle with fruit compote, it was soft, tasted great and came with a good amount of fruit topping. The coffee was also quite good, as was their homemade lemon. While it is a bit pricier, I definitely felt like it was worth it, with good portion size and the quality of the food. Also, the bistro has a very nice and cozy vibe, and they even offer board games and a cabinet for plant saplings exchanges! I would definitely recommend a reservation (especially on weekend mornings), when we were there it was completely full inside and they had to turn away a few groups. There is outdoor seating available though. Basically, I can't wait to come back and eat myself through the rest...

My partner and I came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We had the croque madame and the Wiener Frustuck (which we realised are kinda hot constructed and cold deconstructed versions of each other!) and we're both immensely happy with our choices. The croque madame was a perfectly satisfying level of richness without becoming too heavy. The meat and cheese replacements were delicious in both meals, with great texture and mouthfeel.

Our server was very friendly and helpful, and we really appreciate the recommendations for other vegan friendly places and products to keep an eye out for in the city! We would love to come back when we next...

We went for breakfast and got the English breakfast and the wiener fruhstuck. We liked the vibe and our waitress was lovely. The food was a bit on the average side, the baked beans were not very tasty and the sausages quite hard. We had simple white bread from a packet, would have been nice to have some nicer bread. Also the orange juice size was very small. The latte coffee was very nice flavour, but the Americano coffee was not so strong.
