Brandauer Gerngroß — Restaurant in Vienna

Unique experience! Unfortunately bad one.. there were just two of us, we were seated quite quickly, but waited for a waitress to take an order for around 10 mins. 15 mins after she took an order, she came again to our table to check, if she remembers our order right.. She also checked if I ordered backed potatoes with or without chicken (that was without). We reminded her, that we did not get the beers yet.. 45 mins later we asked if entrees are on the way, she did not say sorry or even did not look sorry, but at least brought them 3 mins later. Later, she brought main dishes. Mine baked potatoes were with chicken, so I had to wait for next 5-7 mins when she comes by once again to point that out. When we finally catched her attencion, she commented that this is mistake of the kitchen, she made the right order. At least she said, that we don't have to pay extra for the chicken. But, here starts the fun! Some minutes later she comes with an empty dish and asks me to put there all the small chicken pieces (btw they were mixed together with grilled vegetables), because she has to bring them back to the kitchen and show to the cook! That was very strange and even funny, I could not imagine this situation possible! Did they put this chicken pieces to somebody's others dish? :) The food itself was oversalted and cold by the time we got it. So to summarize: the view from terrace is great, but that is the only advantage....

The food is good as always, but the service we received there, are some good and some bad. I've been there 3 times during the lunch hours, the staff we're nice. But I've been there 4 times for dinner, the service was always bad, everytime. I understand that during dinner time the workload is at the highest. Yet, if costumer ask if any tables are left or how long the waiting time is, the staff rolled their eyes, 3 out of my 4 times. One time we sat down and had to wait at least 15 minutes for the service to come either to get our order, or to pay the bill. Though the woman sometimes just stand there nothing to do. But we called her several times already gesture wise and verbally, I had to walk to her and tap her on the shoulder... Just to get her eyes rolling again for my orders. At the fourth dinner time visit and the eyes rolling and ignoring... We didn't want to stay anymore and left. I'm sure some people experienced differently. But I don't recommend go there if you are at the busy dinner time. Hungry stomach isn't patient with ignoring and...

The food was very good to be fair. We waited 40 minutes after finishing our meal before the waitress came over to ask if we wanted anything else. The drinks arrived. Then it was another 40 minutes and we decided to leave and we could not find her to pay. We would have had more drinks and dessert if she had come over to check on us. Then got up and went to the bar to pay and she bullied us to give her a service tip. She reminded us that the service fee is not in the check. We said said the service was not good. And then she tried to convince us that service IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE VERY STERNLY. And stood there unwilling to process our payment on the card unless we paid her a service fee. We were very embarrassed because other people could hear her. I gave her a cash tip of 8 Euros unwillingly just so we could leave. We will never visit this restaurant...
