Iris Modern Greek Restaurant — Restaurant in Vienna

One of the things that I strongly dislike is writing a bad review. This time I really need to speak out. I went to this restaurant because I enjoy greek food, wine and hospitality.

After 25 min waiting, honestly, 25 min. The waiter came to me and said: yeah?!

I ordered a glass of a sparkling wine (Akakies) and it came basically without a single bubble and I sent it back and waited to another 10 min and the person said: I just opened the bottle and this is how the wine actually is. The person just didn’t know that I’m quiet familiar with the product, I ignored the stupidity and I said, I’d like something else then.

The person responsible for the restaurant is a mess. I needed to speak up after all the fuss, he came up with excuses and said that I needed to pay what I ordered (I just didn’t actually get what I ordered). I just paid my bill fully - I don’t like to put myself in this kind of situation.

And I heard the comments about me in German and that’s the moment I needed to leave.

This place is not really foreign-friendly (if so, you need to be white to fit in).

I am beyond disappointed and I’ll never come back to this restaurant.

I wish the restaurant was directed by Greek people or by someone with a some basic social skills and I wished even more that would be a place for people with my skin color which clearly isn’t.

I had lunch at Iris recently, and it was an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, perfectly seasoned, and authentically Greek. The grilled lamb and souvlaki were especially standout dishes. You can really taste the quality and care in each bite, and the portions were generous.

What made the visit even better was the exceptionally friendly service. The staff was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. They checked in regularly to ensure we were happy, making us feel truly welcome.

very tasty food and friendly staff! we ordered the tzatziki avocado, moussaka and frito misto to share with 3 people. we also got a sarti spritz and 2 campari spritz, delicious! i think an order went wrong somewhere; a few drinks got put on our table without us ordering that amount of drinks. they brought us our new drinks and the rest was on the house! the baklava was very sweet (as it should be) but the vanilla ice cream balanced it out very well. every dish was good and the service was very fast ☺️ i definitely recommend coming here if you're...
