Rinderwahn at Naschmarkt — Restaurant in Vienna

Not sure why this place has such high ratings..on a good day this place should hit a 3 rating? The burger is quite mediocre with little flavor and a patty that was dry and with a texture that is rather odd with nubby bites ...the fries too are quite dry and flavorless. The best thing about this spot is the branding and look of it which no doubt fools many.

I bought a meal (a cheeseburger, a can of Coke and fries) along with a second cheeseburger for a total cost about 24 euros about $26...when I went back to order a bottle of carbonated water the rather unfriendly counter person charged me 3.80 Euros about $4.20 -absurd...which I told him in German was too expensive and passed on. The hidden Wurst stand literally 50 feet away to the south sold me the same water for 2 Euros. Mind you even by the Leopold museum expensive water was 2.25 euros.

This place is a tourist trap and I suspect that at least partially they get the ratings they do as they are one of the few places open on Sundays.

Really unremarkable spot and I can't be more emphatic in telling...

AVOID THIS TOURIST RIPOFF SCAM. We ordered 2 burger meals with fries and coke. One fry was upgraded to "chili cheese fries".

They charged us for individual items instead of the menu which ended up being 7€ more expensive. When I asked about the bill he fixed only one and still overcharged us for the other burger without the menu combo.

Oh and the only reason we chose to eat here was the chili cheese fries. Guess what, they put cheese and diced jalapeños on it. Not actual chili. Actual bait and switch.

The actual food wasn't great either. Burger meat and fries were undercooked so the flavor was missing. Eat...

The burgers are delicious!!! I love the brioche buns and the beef is really high quality. Cooked super well, the burger remains soft and very juicy. The bacon was crunchy and also the cheddar cheese tasted great. I liked the fact that ketchup was free and available on every table already. The place is very informal and the staff is kind and very quick. Prices are very reasonable and the menu offers simple but interesting options. The table situation is a bit uncomfortable but they’re making the best out of the available space. The drinks are however a bit expensive compared to the rest and they don’t offer a...
