The location was pretty amazing- short walk to Opera, Albertina, Cafe Mozart.||However, the hotel itself feels like a base-level Marriott or a REALLY nice dorm, with cheaper carpets, finishes, etc.||We had us go up in a VERY little elevator, down 2 flights of steps (spread out) to get to our room. This type of effort with bags was taxing, especially when we were on a 2-week trek through EU/UK. (We weren’t told at the front desk how far our room was and had rolling luggage that is usually easily maneuvered).||The room had noise issues- turns out that we had to turn off the HVAC to get it to stop clunking and whirring (not normal white noise).||The room had a very low bed (like a futon), bathroom that was functional but felt like you were in a gym. The room was very dark and while clean, it felt like it was lower than a Hampton Inn/Fairfield experience, which was a problem for the price point of approx $500/night.||We checked out the next day and went to the Steigenberger which felt like we were more on the level of a JW Marriott- at a LOWER price and a short distance to the Sisi museum (where you can get a horse drawn carriage tour). ||This is one of the few times I’ve been very disappointed with a Marriott property. And we weren’t the only ones checking out early and going to another hotel in Vienna.||My reco: check out the Steigenberger or Ambassador. You’ll most likely get a much better hotel at a...
Read moreThe location of the hotel is very good, it is very convenient to go everywhere. The window can see the Art Museum, and the People's Park is across the road. The breakfast buffet is good, and the oranges are especially fresh and sweet. There is a Chinese restaurant called "Hao" about 100 meters away. The taste is very good, but it takes a long time to wait and the price is not cheap. The facilities of the hotel are average for a five-star hotel. Children's beds can be provided for children under the age of four; the bathrooms in some rooms have poor drainage, and the entire bathroom will be wet, and the executive room is slightly better.Room arrangement and cleaning are sloppy. When I checked in, I arranged the executive room as an ordinary room without a refrigerator and a bathtub, and insisted that it was an executive room. Fortunately, Ctrip came forward to coordinate and changed the room type and apologized; the waiter would forget to clean it, so I had to call the front desk to request it. My friend who was traveling had the horrible experience - the cleaner put the bin lid directly on her clean clothes - thankfully the hotel cleaned it up and apologized after the friend lodged a formal complaint. It feels like I apologize when I make a mistake, and then continue to make mistakes...I think the chances of staying again in the future...
Read moreWe stayed here for a post Christmas break, we had 2 rooms, a double and a twin. The hotel is in a good location, easy walking distance to all attractions. The rooms were bright and spacious, with everything you’d need, really good quality shower gel, shampoo etc, lovely shower, safe and mini fridge, iron and board etc. ||The staff were lovely, especially Sophia on reception, and a wonderful young lady in the breakfast area, I don’t know her name, but she was from Czech Republic, both these ladies were a pleasure to deal with, and deserve recognition. The breakfast was great, with a great variety of options, everything was fresh and delicious. |The bar staff in the evening were also a pleasure to deal with. ||As a lifetime platinum member, I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone. ||The only negative, I would mention for the chef to note, was the mixture of grapefruit in the mixed fresh fruit salad, as some people are talking medication that they can’t have grapefruit. This mixture contaminates the fruit salad, resulting in us being unable to consume any of the fresh fruit mix. I did note a platter of the grapefruit separate, it was just a pity it was also mixed...
