Read carefully on each attraction what you want to visit, on the Vienna Pass website. We bought the Vienna Pass unlimited access for 2 days, 110 euro each person. Really important, the start of the 1, 2 or 3 days (depending on what you buy) will start from the 00.00 time of the day you visit your first museum. So, basically, if you make your first visit in the afternoon, then you lost your first day. What we found also important, unfortunately didn't read for all attractions, on some of them, you need a booking of your visit. For example, for Schonbrunn Castle you will need to program your visit, most likely for another day, and if you happen to visit it when it's full of people, the ones that buy the ticket at the castle ticket counter will get priority over you in obtaining the date of visit. This happened to us, went there on a Friday, didn't knew about booking in advance, the people with the tickets got on Saturday a booking, we got only on Sunday, by then, the Pass was expired. This was our final itinerary for the begining of December, which got changed because of not pre-booking in advanced: First day: Zoo Schonbrunn (more than 3 hours to visit), lost too much time to go the Schonbrunn Castle, find the entrance (which is to the side of the building, find the ticket counter to get your correct bar code ticket (they cannot scan the Vienna Pass barcode), find out we cannot visit on that day, we lost maybe 2 hours for this. Then went to the Tehnical Museum (2 hours, fun one). All this took us 8-9 hours, transport included. Next day: Natural History Museum (3 hours), went to Museum of Illusions (but was not included in the PASS, so we didn't stay...could have sworn I read that it's included). Then to Madame Tussauds and The Big Wheel. This took in total 7-8 hours, transport included. We wanted to enter the Saint Stephan Cathedral, but got there too late, most days it's until 16.30, after that you cannot go near the altar, you can enter only a few meters inside, to see something from a distance... we didn't knew about this special schedule, on the internet we found 22.00 as closing time for the Church. Transport was done via trams, U-bahn... Be careful, most museums close at 17, maybe 18, you have to get there at least half an hour before, so you can still enter. All in all, if we would have bought the tickets separately, we would have made a saving of 30-35 euro. It depends a lot on what you want to visit. We tried to visit, as much as possible, museums and sights that are close to one another, but this changed in the first day... In conclusion, I wouldn't buy again the Vienna Pass. You need really good planning of the museums you want to visit. Probably it would be useful for something like Schonbrunn, where you have to pay individually for each attraction, you could spend a full day there, and maybe the next day visit 2-3 other museum, maybe then it would...

When planning to visit Vienna I was offered this and have checked many useful reviews available online. If you want to see many attractions and you are organized enough as well in good condition and are ready to do it whole day it is excellent option for you. I was not going for the most expensive ones but for the ones I was most interested in (and I have to admit that I have visited several just because they were near like Madam Tussauds which was close to Prater and which I have ignored in many cities so far). I have paid 125 euro for 3 day and have visited attractions for more then 200 euros so it was worth it but beleive me that I was active form dusk till down (in fact little less as I had concerts in the evenings). There is option to buy ticket for public transport and you should buy that also which can be both picked on the airport or in the city center. But you need to use hop on&off buses and public transport and to plan carefully. Some of the museums and palaces are very large and if you want to see all you will lose too much time. You have to pick some topics and cover them in detail while other either go quickly or just ignore. Good examples are Zoo and Museums of Art and Natural History. And start with Danube Tower. With buses first use yellow and red lines and see them whole with earphones and then use all 4 available lines to visit selected attractions. I have missed walking guided tours as simply you lose so much time in the museums and in between them. I will review all attractions I have visited separately but you need to visit Schonbrunn palace and amazing parks around as well as some of the museums. Be careful with buses as some of them are competition. And you can buy it online before coming to Vienna using also 10% discount so if you are ready for all described above do buy...

First of all their office program is from 9 am to 12am , but in fact it is from 9am to 12pm, so 3 hours. When I purched this I had no idea that I need to go to an office to get my FlexiPass card. You find out all the details only after you purchase the card .In the first day I came I arrived at 3pm in Vienna and I could not visit anything because the office was closed and I could not get the card. They should have a machine to get the card not to wait in a line at the office. Next day after we got the card we went at Schonbrunn Palace we had no idea that were supposed to go at the ticket office to scan the card and to get a ticket. It would have been more logical to be able to scan the barcode of the card directly at the entrace. Anyways, we got the ticket and the surprise was that we could only get in after 1 hour. The lady at the ticket office gave us the ticket with an hour written on it that was 1 hour after we went there, even if in that time a lot of people came, got their tickets and entered. So in this situation not only it was not a “skip de the line” advantage as written in the description, it was 1 hour disadvantage and 1 hour missed from the day. In general, I think that if they will continue to keep the office opened to redeem the card, they should extend the opening hours because most of the tourist attractions open at 9am , same as the ticket office and it is time wasted again. When you do a city break every minute matters. They should open at least 1 hour before or, as in other cities, to have a machine where you can redeem it that is...

Vienna Pass was the greatest benefit during my stay in Vienna. I had a 6-day pass and I had an extremely intense program. So when I counted, it turned out I saved about 300 euros, maybe even more. Not to mention Skip the Line thing in many museums where there is a line! Another good thing was that I had no regrets about visiting any museum or place because there were some I would have regretted spending money on (Josephinum, Ferris Wheel and Mozarthaus, for example). But for free they were fine. Another good thing was that I just popped into some smaller museums that I wouldn't have visited otherwise but they turned out to be really good (like Papyrus Museum and Globe and Esperanto Museum). Hop On Hop Off buses were awesome, especially Blue Line, such a great journey. I had no problem getting into Sisi Museum and Schönbrunn, I went in the morning but not early. There was some waiting time but not too much. In Schönbrunn you can only see State Apartments with Vienna Pass, which is quite little. But it was my own fault I didn't check it in more details. It's the most important thing: do your research, Vienna Pass has a very comprehensive site where everything is explained. If you want to visit just a few places, maybe Flexi Pass (also sold there) will be better for you. But if you want an intense program, Vienna Pass is a treasure.

As a solo traveler, I bought the 3 days Vienna Pass Card (January 2024) Here are my pro's and con's Pro's: a. Most of the museums and attractions I've been visited are for free, no hassle at all... b. You can save money at all. c. The guy personnel's (departure area - Opera House) are helpful and attentive. d. Hop on Hop off bus is tidy and quite ok with 20 languages installed e. The headphone is sealed and clean. Con's: a. The receptionist lady is not approachable at all. b. The bus came very late and time is wasted. c. You need to pre-book schedule or reservation ahead of time for the Opera House and Schönbrunn Palace (if you want to see that consist of more or less 40 rooms - I experienced was only 4 rooms) d. The only tourist card I have encountered that is made of hard paper. Question: 1. Why need an additional cost for the night tour (hop on hop off) if I purchased Vienna Pass Card already? 2. Why is its public transportation in Vienna Pass Card is not included? (Slovakia and Hungary - public transportation is included in the card purchased) Conclusion: Before purchasing it, be sure you have your itinerary schedule of your own so that you will know which attractions/tourist spots are near to each other. Vienna Pass Card is money savers and worthy at all. Definitely recommendable.
