Prego am Naschmarkt — Restaurant in Vienna

Ate an early dinner with my sister-in-law’s family who are visiting from Taipei. Server was a bit agitated when seeing our group of 4 adults and 4 young children. Made multiple faces towards other servers after walking away and was visibly frustrated when my relatives weren’t ordering quick enough as they were discussing a few menu items with my wife. Mind you, they don’t speak German and their English is not the best either so we were supporting them. After taking our order he only brought my beverage (the only white person in our group) and did not bring the 4 other beverages. He then proceeded to sit at the restaurant next door and ate a meal. Only after I flagged him down 5-10 minutes later and pointed to my drink and asking where the others were did he instruct another server to help. The other server was quick and asked what else we needed. Food was then promptly served. Therefore, I believe it was an isolated incident and does not reflect all servers at the location. Not sure if it was racism or just a server without manners and missing professionalism.

Pizza was average. My wife enjoyed the pasta.

In hopes that the management take corrective actions, we sat at tables 1 and 3. Paid our bill at 18:40 today.

Could’ve Been Better for the Price

We visited this Italian restaurant and ordered some simple dishes — two pasta dishes, a pizza, and two coffees.

To start with the positives: the coffee itself was actually quite nice. However, the cup it was served in had a visible crack, which made me feel a bit uneasy — I was genuinely worried it might cut my lip. It definitely took away from the experience.

The food was, unfortunately, underwhelming. The pizza was rather dry and lacked flavour. My pasta was a bit too firm and overly salty, and my companion's carbonara turned out to be far too rich and heavy — he found it quite sickly by the end.

When it came to paying the bill, the total was around €46. The waiter suggested rounding it up to €55, which I found rather cheeky, especially considering the overall experience. It honestly felt a bit like a rip-off. In the end, I chose to leave a 10% service charge, which I thought was fair.

2 verschiedene Pasta Gerichte bestellt - beide offensichtlich in Mengen vorgekocht und aufgewärmt Apfelsaft auf einen halben mit Wasser gefüllt bestand geschmacklich nur aus Wasser -Kellner unfreundlich und unprofessionell Haar in Essen - Schuld auf Gast schieben trotz anderer Haarfarbe - keine Entschuldigung nur ein müde Einladung auf ein halb gefülltes schnapsglas Limoncello Geschmacklich in Ordnung aber auf Kantinenniveau

Spontan abends an einem Wochentag, für das Restaurant entschieden. Der gute Geruch lockte uns an und es sah auch gemütlich aus. Das war allerdings das einzig positive an diesem Restaurantbesuch, Die Kellner sind teils sehr wortkarg und unfreundlich und generell alle sehr unprofessionell. So wird zb am Nachbartisch, bei englischsprachigen Gästen nach den Getränken gefragt indem man mit Daumen und Zeigefinger die trinken Geste zeigt und drinking fragt... Die bestellte Pasta kam innerhalb von 5 Minuten und war ganz offensichtlich in großer Menge vorgekocht und vermutlich nur kurz aufgewärmt, einzelne Nudeln waren bereits hart und verkocht, die Bolognese Sauce war bereits durch die Nudeln gerührt was den Verdacht des in großen Mengen vorkochen und aufwärmen nur bestätigt Geschmacklich war die Pasta in Ordnung, zumindest bis ich das haar in der Soße fand... Den Kellner darauf angesprochen, verschwand dieser kurz im Laden und kam mit der Aussage wieder dass alle in der Küche entweder eine Glatze haben oder ein kappie tragen... Er meint von ihnen komme es nicht, naja da es schwarz war kann es nicht von mir selber gewesen sein... Keine Spur von einer Entschuldigung nur die dahingemurmelte Einladung auf ein Glas limoncello, was dann so aussah dass er uns 2 halbvolle Schnapsgläser einstellte und...
