Even if my review might seem biased, I really dont care. Tofu and chilli by far I have found to be a BETTER restaurant in terms of the food quality, taste and ambience. As the name suggests, the restaurant has a variety of tofu dishes in both vegetarian and non vegetarian variants, however a bit more in non veg. There is also a selection of non-Tofu based dishes. I being a vegetarian, was a regular customer for almost half a year there and to everyone I would recommend this W17 dish which is with coconut milk and red curry. The only drawback is that this place is a bit crowded so do not go in the most probable dine timings. There is still an option to secure a place via reservation. The place also offers quick meals which are ready to take as lunch etc. As compared to the other options available in the naschmarkt (this restaurant is just on the opposite lane), the prices at this restaurant are good value for money. For example most of the meals are for 6Euros and 50 cents and in that you get a welcome soup, rice, some cabbage stuffing, fruit and the curry (you choose) and this much is enough to fill your tummy (even if you are...
Read moreA glance at the photos is enough. Anyone who knows their way round Chinese nosh can clock that this place is proper legit. I couldn’t quite place the regional roots of the dishes. Bit of a mash-up. That said, my handmade beef noodles had a whiff of hearty Chinese Muslim cuisine heritage. Bang-on texture, chewy and fresh. Flavorful, yet a bit tame on the spice front? Price-wise, it’s a mixed bag. Many items are fairly priced and generously portioned. But then some are taking the mick - like the handmade noodle bowl, which, by all accounts, is a classic farmer’s meal. Should be cheap as chips, but here it’s going for 13 euros. The locals are clearly wise to it too - the joint is nearly always rammed. So if you’re thinking of popping by, best not rock up at peak time unless you...
Read moreNote that this restaurant accepts cash only. We walked over 20 mins to the restaurant with 15 Euro and only found out by a small sign in the window. Cash only restaurants should be clearly identified in Google reviews. Yes, we could go across the street and try to find a cash machine but that's an additional hassle. The food is okay, probably pretty good for Vienna, although I think it's a bit expensive for what you get. Our vegetarian noodles were decent, and I might go back again if I was staying closer to the restaurant....
