REDROOF VIENNA — Restaurant in Vienna

It is a Rooftop bar, but for some reason you are not allowed to drink at the actual balcony offering views of Danube and Vienna? You can only drink inside which then makes it the same as any other bar and not a rooftop bar.

It is cozy inside, and the music was great, some female dj playing electro, and the volume was very low, so the atmosphere was intimate. Would be nice if the service wasnt terrible.

The main waiter is impossibly rude, placed us at the bar as there was no indoor seating available, which is fine. We asked for the drink menus, did not get ones, and the in a second he came back and demanded we make an order so we just opted for classic cocktails. I asked if the have a mojito he said yes. I got hugo without any explanation! Then we wanted to go to balcony which has seating we were told there were no drinks allowed outside at the tables (WE ARE THE BAR?!?!), although there were some people smoking at the terrace while having drinks? Anyways we stayed standing to finish out drinks, and wanted to pay and then again the main waiter was wrong about what we ordered (from him), and was quite rude about his mistake. We left promptly and dont intend to come back. Only good thing is sweet girl, some bar assisant i would say that gives you mini bowls of popocorn and refills them...

We went here in the evening to enjoy the rooftop atmosphere. First they told us we could sit outside but have to order inside. Then they came to us and asked, what we were doing outside, and that we were not allowed to sit outside anymore and had to sit inside. The rooftop terrace was still full of people though, enjoying their drinks and there was plenty of free seats. It was super hot inside and the rooftop part is the only reason we came there. Every time we asked if we could go outside they said in a very distinct tone „outside is closed“ and wouldn’t reason with us, despite the fact, that loads of people were outside, the doors were wide open and there was plenty of free seats and tables. There was no explanation, and no way to reason. Thats not they way you want to be treated as a costumer and it just seems illogical, especially since the music was more than just loud, you could not speak...

A very nice rooftop bar and restaurant with some excellent food but also some issues. What’s good? The burgers are tremendous. The mezze also delicious and very good sweet potato fries with guacamole and jalapeños. What’s not good? The promise of buttermilk fried chicken was a big letdown. Basically appear to be frozen chicken nuggets with not enough sauce. The request for additional sauce took 15 minutes. Hard to understand how there is such a massive variance in food quality. Also the bar has a great view but on a hot day you will burn up. It’s crazy hot. I was there in early April. 26C day. Felt like 40C. And they have to close at 10pm due to...
