The location of the restaurant is top. It is located in the heart of Vienna and close to U3 subway station. If you are a non-smoker and do not like to enjoy your food with the smell of smoke you should better look for another restaurant. The restaurant has 2 entrances from either side. When you enter the restaurant from the main entrance (Petersplatz) you have to go through the smoking area first. even though the non-smoking area is divided by glass doors, the doors do close very slowly and infrequent (bc waiters and guests are coming in and out all the time). one of the glass door had even a 5 gap from the door to the wall, which permits smoke in very easily. so after you leave the restaurant your whole clothes smell after cigarette smoke. I did not appreciate this at all.
The food itself was ok. The pankcakes were really good, the soup was good as well but the Kaesespaetzle just average.
The later the evening the less often you get served by the waiters. The waiters also do not seem to work very professionally. When the soups were served the waiter "stapled" the soup dishes one after each other, which should only be done when you clean the dishes from the table. but not when you serve it to the guests. Conclusion: Vienna has way more caring and professional service staff and better food to offer than this restaurant. I will certainly not come...
Read moreI reserved an appointment with a kind hungarian waiter on the phone, and got there right on time with my girlfriend at 9pm.
Another austrian waiter escorted us to our table, wich was full with breadcrumbs. After he took our order for the drinks, he came back, and still did not clean the table. We changed our seats to the table next to us.
When we made our order, I informed the waiter about my allergies of corn and sesame seeds, and asked him to leave these out of the salad. He simply rejected it, and said: he can only offer fries or mixed salad instead of the original potato salad with cranberries.
Eventually we got 2 pieces of wiener schnitzel each with cold fries, and some ketchup. We paid altogether 65€ for this below avarage meal in the inner city of Wien…
When I was asking for the bill, the austrian waiter made us wait for at least 20 minutes while he had no order to deliver, he was just chatting with his collague.
The hungarian waiter eventually came to us to be able to pay the bill, and tried to compensate us with a shot of pálinka.
Altogether all I can say, that I’d have rather gone to the kitchen and prepare the food myself for this money, than to leave this obligation to the “restaurant” .
Overpriced, amateur service. Not...
Read moreThe food itself was decent, but the staff completely ruined the experience. I specifically ordered a Viennese schnitzel made of veal and was served pork instead. When I pointed it out, it was obvious the waiter knew exactly what he was doing – trying to pass off the cheaper meat while charging me for the more expensive dish.
Later, he brought me “another schnitzel,” this time two pieces – one veal, one pork – which is absolutely ridiculous. It felt like a deliberate attempt to take advantage of me as a tourist.
To make matters worse, when I asked for the bill, he came straight with the card machine without showing the receipt. Only after insisting did he reluctantly bring it.
Overall, a very disappointing experience – the food may be okay, but the dishonest service makes it a place I would...
