Leopoldsbrunnen (Leopold's Fountain) is one of monuments along Grabenstraße in the city centre of Vienna, it can be seen on the east side of the Plague Column. Here you will find an octagonal shaped basin with a bronze figure of St. Leopold who is holding a flag in his left hand while looking over a papers being held in his right. There is a young boy standing next to him, peering upwards at the saint. Constructed in 1680 by Austrian sculptor Johann Frühwirth, the stone statue of St. Leopold was later replaced with a lead sculpture by Johann Martin Fischer in 1804. While not as impressive or interesting as the beautiful Baroque Plague Column nearby, Leopold's Fountain is interesting to see, as is the similar Joseph's Fountain, situated on the other side of the Plague Column. Give both a few minutes viewing while spending time on Grabenstraße in Vienna.
