Taste is good, cake was not perfect (the cake lookedba bit more leavened on one side - see picture) but service was quite disappointing for the price. I ordered 2 cakes for takeaway, pretty standard cakes sized 18 and 20cm (25€ and 45€ respectively). Delivery is not an option, so I had to pick up the cakes myself. Problem is that they don't have bags for takeaway (they have just some boxes only for smallest cakes). I would have appreciated if warning to bring your own bag was sent in advance, especially when the order is for multiple cakes. The only solution they offered is that I go to Billa (10 mins walk away) and buy myself a bag 🙄 Unfortunately Billa does not have bags of the right size, but luckily managed to force the biggest cake box into the biggest possible bag I could buy (after Cake Tree staff proposed forcing the biggest cake into a small takeaway box, which would have certainly ruined one cake). Finally, when I asked if I could get one stamp in the fidelity card, they said that it is reserved for single slices only. Frankly, I had a bit higher expectations for one of the highest rated bakeries in town 😔

A Sensational Birthday Cake. I’ve come across this shop via recommendation from a friend who swore by their Birthday Cakes. They have an instagram page ( @thecaketreewien ) which is super helpful to see the different themes and techniques they use in their decorations. I was a bit worried because i do not speak proper german so i wasn’t sure i could get my ideas across very well, and i also felt i‘m ordering the cake a little last minute. The ordering process was amazingly simple, i made the order in English through a phone call, and they also correspond via WhatsApp, which i highly appreciated. The lady took her time to answer to all my inquiries, and gave me options of flavours and cake shapes to choose from. On the Birthday day, the cake was ready on time for pick up, they accept both cash and credit card. EVERYONE in the party was impressed by the Cake, not only did it look beautiful, it tasted AMAZING. It is safe to say, BIRTHDAY BOY was PROUD of his Pokemon dome shaped cake! I am so thankful for this pleasant experience. Highly recommended, i would order again. Job well done! Keep it up!

Update 14.09.21: Though cakes are probably still very good, "The cake tree" is only a shadow of what it was three years ago. No sitting inside or outside possible anymore. The service is emotionless and automatic. Therefore not worthwhile visiting anymore. It's a pity... Very refreshing alternative to the classic Konditorei, which is highly recommended to cake lovers. There is a children section, which is set up very flexible: If the child wants to eat/enjoy/play outside, the whole set up moves outside... :-) The service team is friendly and ambitious, the location north of Praterstern has to be found first. Once reached and enjoyed the cakes, you will remember automatically for next time...

This lovely café made my day! After an unexpectedly cold walk in the park, we stumbled into The Cake Tree. From the large selection of delicious cakes to the friendly, home-made feel of the place, this was the perfect place to warm up our bodies and souls. The only dilemma was choosing which cake to go for... In the end I settled for the beautifully moist, tangy carrot cake, my husband indulged in the rich, velvety triple chocolate mousse cake and my daughter's banana slice had disappeared within minutes. It's also worth mentioning that the café is very child friendly: there are high chairs, a changing table and my daughter even got her own little table to sit at and a few toys to play with which she loved! Next time, we'll skip the cold walk in the park and just spend more time...
