Food was fine, but sadly service was very awfuI :( I think that was the first time I have ever encountered such person who is working in the field of Gastronomy.
Me together with my family (6 person) decided to spontaneously dine in here around 12:50 while waiting for something. We arrived there and I approached the waiter in a proper manner asked if there‘s a free table for 6 people (for my mom, dad and sis. And for me, my husband and my daughter) we weren‘t really expecting to have a table as it was spontaneous and it would have been okay if they said „sorry no free table“, but thankfully the waiter with somehow an annoyed look and tone said (in german) “okay but you have to fold your Kinderwagen“ seeing that my 18 month old daughter was about to fall asleep. But thankfully he took back what he said and it was ok that we don‘t fold it, but we have to stay somewhere um die Ecke where our Reisebuggy (fyi it‘s very small compare to a normal Kinderwagen it can even fit in the airplane) can fit. My daughter slept & so far it was fine. He then said that we have to be seated in two different tables. He pointed to a table with 4 chairs and a table with only 2 chairs. I tried to explain that we are 2 families. Me, my husband and my daughter. My mom, dad and my sis. So it wouldn‘t be nice if one of us would be separated from our families. The ideal would be to be divided by 3. So I suggested if we could all sit there by the edge where there is a 4 seat table and beside it was a 2 seat table so we could just move and place it together. He said it wouldn‘t be possible because someone reserved that specific table. And the reservation was in like 1 & a half hour. So yeah it was understandable . Fyi there are other tables that are not occupied. I was just trying to find the best solution so that we could all sit together. In the end me together with my husband and daughter is in a 4 seat table at the opposite edge where my mom, dad and sis is also in another 4 seat table. Some tables were occupied and some were not. The family behind us who is in a 4 seat table finished eating and left. By this time my dad and my sis haven‘t ordered yet (but my mom did already) so I asked if it‘s ok that they transfer to the table behind us so that somehow we are close to each other not like in opposite edges. He then said with again in an annoyed tone that he would have to print out the receipt in order for them to transfer and that they have to pay already to be transferred because in their system is like this and like that blabla. For your information I know this because I was also once a waitress. Back then my boss would tell me that I can print out the receipt from the previous table, transfer them but of course I shouldn‘t ask them directly for the payment when some haven‘t even ordered yet (that is an etiquette that one should know when working in this field) now when the customer are already transferred keep the previous receipt from the previous table and I don‘t even want to go into details anymore because maybe they do it differently in Tomochan or idk about that waiter i was just utterly shocked by how incompetent this waiter was every suggestion I have he rudely declines with no interest to help or whatsoever. So in the end my mom, dad and sis stayed in the table opposite from us. And we ate separately.
It was not that he declined my request but it was that he doesn‘t even try to help. And when I approach him in a good manner he would just give back some bad vibes (a guy karen). So yeah..
photo creds from tomochan website. hope this stuff would be better. It‘s really a shame because food was good place was also good but the most important part was really a disappointment. It‘s my second time here. The first one wasn‘t like this. I have seen previous reviews complaining about...
Read moreI would leave them 6 stars if I could. We went there twice during our 3 days in Vienna. Very nice decor all one piece anime themed which is awesome. I'm from LA where I'm very accustomed to very good food of any type especially ramen. The food was excellent - we tried several different items. Second time we went the guy remembered us from 2 nights before. I had talked a little about anime with him. I had placed some of the items on a plate as he was clearing the table - very minimal effort on my part but just what I always do. 2 minutes later they came back with a 10$ gift card. Unfortunately I was leaving the country the following morning so I gave it to another table but really appreciated the gesture. Great food and great service. A place that likes to take care of their customers is always a place worth going to. If you like ramen definitely check this place out. If you have never tried it I suggest opening your horizons and giving...
