Arnold Schoenberg: A great thinker, teacher, and artist. Anyone who has heard his music or read his work will begin to wonder about who he was and how his life shaped the ideas he had. The exhibition in the Arnold Schoenberg centre provides a great introduction and insight into Schoenberg’s life, music, paintings, and writings. Original manuscripts and letters are shown with additional information that make this a must for music lovers. Paintings with descriptions are also present.
I was fascinated by lesser known facts of Schoenberg’s life such as his blueprints for a musical typewriter and the invention of coalition chess.
Outside the exhibit is a replication of his office when residing in the United States.
