Arnold Schoenberg: A great thinker, teacher, and artist. Anyone who has heard his music or read his work will begin to wonder about who he was and how his life shaped the ideas he had. The exhibition in the Arnold Schoenberg centre provides a great introduction and insight into Schoenberg’s life, music, paintings, and writings. Original manuscripts and letters are shown with additional information that make this a must for music lovers. Paintings with descriptions are also present. I was fascinated by lesser known facts of Schoenberg’s life such as his blueprints for a musical typewriter and the invention of coalition chess. Outside the exhibit is a replication of his office when residing in the United States. Finally, a surprisingly large library of books and sheet music related to Schoenberg is available outside the exhibition with the option to purchase. The exhibition is also free for under 25s.

Perfect place for Schönberg music. Detailed description of Schönberg's life, music and paints. Also there are 4 tablets of Schönberg music/interview, each consisting 6 pieces. Headphone's quality was exquisite which was an awesome experience of focusing on his masterpieces. Must visit in Wien for sure.

I went to collect a ticket for a concert and found the staff to be courteous and very helpful. I went to the concert this evening and enjoyed a challenging series of works, the best being Schoenberg's String Trio. The venue is small but intimate. The layout of the Center is somewhat confusing with different lifts being used for the hall and the office. Otherwise quite content with...

A very interesting institution in the centre of Vienna. A very exhaustive museum dedicated to life, works and hetitage of Arnold Schonberg. The library contains a treasure on documents and books on Schonbergs life, works and influence on 20th century musical developments after the Second...
