My son and I experienced the worst and most disrespectful service during our visit to Vienna.

We had planned to have dinner at this particular restaurant today. Arriving with my son, we found the restaurant to be mostly empty, with around 70% of the tables unoccupied. Unfortunately, there was no one to greet us at the entrance, so we seated ourselves at a table suitable for 4 people, considering I also had a large rucksack with meand we were waiting my wife to join us. Despite waiting patiently for about 10 minutes, no one came to attend to us. Finally, a staff member passing by on their way to the restroom reluctantly acknowledged us and called over a colleague, who was exceptionally rude.

For reasons unclear to us, the waiter insisted we move to a different table, citing concerns about space if four people were to join us, despite the abundance of available seating.

When he eventually brought us menus, it was done so with evident displeasure. His attitude towards us was unwelcoming and abrasive. When I inquired about a specific soup from the menu, he responded brusquely, instructing me to simply look at the menu and then he would return. His tone was dismissive and disrespectful, leaving us feeling belittled and unwelcome.

At this point, we decided to leave. We were deeply disappointed by the entire experience. I had previously visited this establishment for lunch and had enjoyed both the courteous service and delicious food. However, this visit left much to be desired. It is my opinion that the individual responsible for our unpleasant encounter should reconsider their suitability for a role that involves interacting with guests, as their behavior was far from acceptable. I would suggest to kick him out of this job

This encounter has undoubtedly been the most disappointing experience I've...

I used to go there from time to time since several years, but the last visit made me decide never to dine there anymore!.. We came in at 9.30pm, there was a big table with loud voices, so we chose a table on the other side, the waiter said all the tables in the restaurants are already prepared for breakfast NEXT DAY! and in a very childish way forced us to take a table just next to the loud table (although there were guests who came later and took a table of their own choice). While taking the order, he had to cut the process 2 times to attend other guests who were coming in... The glass of wine came dirty (we asked him to change it and it was done), but the wine we asked wasn't shown to us before pouring, it just came in a little glass and that's not professional. the food was good though. The floor around us had food from the previous guests (not a nice view while eating!) and when I asked for the bill (which included table cover despite dirty glass and floor and bad service) it was 53 euro (lasagne+Pizza +2xwine+cola light and water)... It was obvious that I wanted to pay and not let the other guest with me see the bull, but he said the amount loudly, and wanted to do the kassa process in front of her.... I didn't want to leave a good tip for such a backwarded service so i left a hundred + 5 euro, and asked him to give me back 50 euro in one piece.... He kept discussing that giving me back coins works too, so I just said yes and left.

Too many details but we really went out with a feeling that this waiter should NEVER work in Gastro! Shame for the restaurant. I must admit that the other waiters there were very nice and very professional on earlier visits. The food is good as...

Sadly I have to give this place the lowest evaluation rate possible, despite being there several times with my family in the past. This message is a feedback to the administrators that must take consideration of the people they hired. Yesterday I had a very unpleasant experience with one one of your waiters who is definitely not suitable for the job. Since the beginning the attention was not good but average and didn't care if the table was set up properly, there was cutlery for 2 and not 3 people. Most of the time he was absent and when the food arrived I had to pick a knife and napkin from the next and empty table to give it to my mother. Later when he discovered "this terrible attempt to his job" got angry and yelled at me from the other side of the restaurant as he were in his kitchen correcting a friend that offended him. Of course, I never received an apology myself and manager was not available. This speaks of someone that doesn't have the education or the experience for such a job that is serving others and specially in this restaurant that is located in a privileged place of Vienna, this is not a McDonald's or lower rate restaurant. I had such an unpleasant evening and I must give the feedback because we pay for the food and the service and this was rude and out of proportion. I hope this helps to improve and to take care of the personal selection. I won't return and won't recommend this...

1) They included into the bill an option which we didn't ask for and didn't eat. It was very strange and suspicious. And I don't think it was a mistake. 2) When we asked what is cover, the waiter wasn't able to explain that to us. He just said "you know, it is a gedeck, cover". P.S. After receiving the owner's reply, I've got something to add. First of all, the owner didn't mention the fact that we were charged for something that we didn't order. Is this a feature of "a better quality restaurant"? Secondly, I've been to more than 10 countries, including Italy. And know what? I've never experienced this "authentic" Italian thing as cover charge. Even in luxury places in the center of Venice. So this excuse doesn't work. I wish you would be brave enough to admit that it's a rip-off and nothing more. Thirdly, considering the point of "a better quality restaurant". Is this for real? The food here is average, the interior is dated and not classy at all. Obviously, you don't usually eat in better quality restaurants if you think that this place is one of those.

To detail my honest experience... Pro: - The service was quick and the waiter was friendly and attentive (except about tips below). - The food tasted great! The food portion was also good. - Bread, butter and breadstick was free (which was very nice!). ++ on this. - Price is also reasonable considering the location! Cons: - A cover charge is applied for each guest (might be the location but it is a hidden cost). - The waiter emphasizes that tip is not included. Reminded me twice and suggesting that 10%~15%+ is a good tipping range. Service was great and I always tip at fine dining so I was going to anyway but honestly tips shouldn’t be forced like this. Of my three days in Vienna and visiting many fine dining restaurants, first time I’ve encountered this. Despite the above overall it was a good experience so I would recommend for those hungry travellers.

My four colleagues and I came in for dinner. We had no reservation and the service team was quick to find us a spot and gave us time to wait for our full party to arrive without hovering around too much. The baguette was amazing, soft as clouds, we really enjoyed it! Overall food was good, pizza and pastas were all well done. I personally had the Ravioli and although plating might need to be done a little better, the taste was spot on. I saw previous reviews on tips and personally gave a 10%. I don’t know whether it was mandatory to tip in Austria but do have to comment that when the waiter gave me the bill, it was done in such a way that I felt I HAD to tip.
