Thirsty while you wait for food? Too bad. Get up. And go find the unmarked “Bar” area. Put your scan card on a reader and wait again for the pseudo Bar staff to get your drink.
Return to your table with your drinks, as you’re still your own waiter.
Need Silverware? A Napkin? GO GET IT. Your here to work, not eat, yet.
Finally the beeper went off and I, as my own non certified waiter, must now go and get my Pizza.
Back to the table i walk with my pizza.
Now, I need plates. I wonder where those are? Oh, behind the divider on the kitchen staff side. Go ask for a plate, wait for the sneer.
Return to the table and eat your now warm pizza since, well, you’re a waiter in a process that is flawed.
The Pizza was OK.
Craving dessert we went to search for a Dessert Station. Nothing. Fortunately, a small display case was spotted near the Bar area, and we figured it out, as our own Waiter.
Do you get the point that you WILL WORK FOR YOUR FOOD HERE?
If you want to BE Served then DO NOT COME HERE.
If you want to work for your Food and don’t like being Waited on. Then this is your place.
I do not recommend this concept.

Normally like to choose something local but We arrived late in Vienna and most places were already closed so we choose for Vapiano Wien Mitte with the hope for some simple, fresh and tasy food. We know the concept from other countries and mostly we were happy with the quality of the food. We came in this Thursday evening some 30 minutes before the kitchen closes but obviously they were in a hurry and did not appreciate customers coming in as the lady by the entrance announced us in a rather annoyed voice that in 30 minutes the kitchen closes. The person behind the pasta counter did not look us in the eyes and asked us for our order. The risotto with prawns was rather OK though I think it was a bit too watery. The salad was nice, perhaps a bit too much mayonaise in there but freshness was good. The risotto with mushrooms was a drama however and I guess my wife was too tired to bother to return the dish so took a few bites and left it there. Well, perhaps all the staff were already with their heads at home and perhaps during the day this place works but this evening experience resulted in putting Vapiano on the "avoid list" for atleast a year or 2. Our mitigation : arrive earlier in Vienna next time and fine a local place (which we found the day after) :-). And can somebody explain me why they have the fresh herbs in the middle of the table with "don't touch, only decoration" !? If you don't want people to eat it, what does it do there ??? Why provoke your customers with a great selection of fresh herbs in front of their nose which you're not...

On 21.01.2022 was the same, I ordered 1 gamberetti y spinachi, with nothing else. I think according to the menu, this should be around 11 EUR. We were in a haste, so we paid with our new Edenred Restaurant Cards on the first floor, I haven't even checked the price, just now realized that I was charged 24,40 EUR. I absolutely haven't had anything else, so I don't really understand who (the chef making the food and registering the order on the card they give you in the restaurant to use or the cashier) made an error here? I attached to the email the screenshot from the edenred app, with the transaction. I wanted to have a solution for this why I paid double price for my food, or at least some kind of solution...Never got one. Is anyone reading those emails sent to their contact email?
Here I would like to state, that yes, I admit to have had made a mistake on my side here as well. I could have been more cautious and check what amount I pay, but having no response at all for an email is not...
