Vevi is a fantastic restaurant that serves up the best vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine I've had in Vienna. The restaurant is particularly known for their delicious and rich phos, which are full of flavor and make for a satisfying meal.
The menu also features a great selection of starters, including summer rolls with fresh vegetables and mushrooms. These are a perfect appetizer and are always fresh and tasty. Additionally, the lunch menu is very affordable, making Vevi a great option for a quick and satisfying midday meal.
I've been a fan of Vevi for the last two years and have often ordered delivery from the restaurant. The food always arrives fresh and hot, and the quality is consistent every time.
If you plan on dining in at Vevi, I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time, as the restaurant can get quite busy. On a few occasions, my group and I have had to head to other restaurants because we couldn't get the desired seating. However, if you are able to secure a good seat, the dining experience is truly worth it.
Overall, I highly recommend Vevi to anyone looking for delicious vegetarian Vietnamese food in Vienna. The phos and summer rolls are must-tries, and the lunch menu is a great value. Just make sure to plan ahead and make a reservation for the best possible...

The service is warm and genuinely kind, but a bit clumsy — extremely friendly, yet lacking the polish you'd expect in a more professional restaurant setting. It feels more like you're being welcomed by a well-meaning friend than served by trained staff.
The food is hearty and satisfying in terms of portion size, which we do appreciate — it's clear they want guests to leave full. But when it comes to dining out, we're usually looking for more than just a full stomach. Flavor matters most, and in this case, the dishes felt a bit unbalanced. Some were overly sweet and lacked acidity, which left them feeling flat.
We truly applaud the ambition to make rice noodles in-house — that's a rare and commendable effort — but unfortunately, the result was soggy and missed the mark on texture.
What we also didn't quite understand is the decision not to serve alcohol. Unless it's due to licensing restrictions (which wasn’t communicated), it comes across as a philosophical choice — perhaps an attempt to frame veganism as something more than just a movement against animal suffering. If that’s the case, it risks reinforcing the stereotype that vegan spaces are about a broader lifestyle dogma, rather than simply offering amazing flavour balanced...
Read moreThe service was alright, and the food arrived in a reasonable time. You can sit outside in good weather. The interior is simple, nothing extraordinary. For a vegan restaurant, it's amazing with a wide variety of dishes, many of which are really well executed. I especially like the pictures of the food in the menu. Portions are quite generous, and the prices are reasonable.
One thing that annoyed me was that the staff tried to take away my sauces for the pho three times while I was still eating. Twice I told them I was still using it, but the third time I was too annoyed to say anything.
The Cuốn Soja Bơ was fresh and good, and I enjoyed the Hoisin-Peanut Sauce that came with it. Another time, I tried their Bánh Tráng Trộn (Mango Salad), which was amazing. The salad my friend had (I forgot the name) was alright, nothing special. The Phở u Lạc (Pho with mushrooms) was good. The broth was earthy, and the mushrooms were well-cooked. I expected some other vegetables, but it was only mushrooms. I would have preferred more coriander as well. My friend had the Bún Trộn (Bún Bowl with spring rolls, BBQ soy skewers, and fish sauce) and really liked it—it didn't disappoint.
Overall, it's an alright place, but for vegans, it's amazing. I...
