Yes, the meals are tasty. But service and pricing is awful... I've been here several times, sometimes just for drinking a tea, sometimes for having a meal. Tea is not so good (it's boiled and tastes bitter), but meals are delicious. I tried plov, khingali and other meals.
Service is not so good. They are not very friendly to everyone (I don't know based on what, but I saw there some discrimination by personnel 😁) I expect better service for tourists, but I haven't seen it. Also they use some bad words between them. I was shocked when I heard some swear-words from kitchen.
Pricing is also not ok. I mean you can find better service and meal for this price range in the downtown. Really the best place for Kunefe just like the other reviews say. Ambience was normal, and servers took quite a while to respond even though there were only 3 other set of guests
However they only accept cash, unlike literally every single restaurant around them that accepts cards. It was our last day and we did not want to withdraw any AZN manat, so we offered euros instead. The server went and returned and said the only acceptable currency rate (which was apparently determined by the chef) was a ridiculous 1€ = 1.7 AZN. At the time of writing, the exchange was 1€ = 1.89 AZN.

Now that I have visited this place multiple times, I can safely admit that Chef Baku by Kunefe is one of the trustworthy places offering value for money.
We have ordered Lahmajun with cheese and Ayran. It was well cooked, soft and delicious. Also planning to eat kunefe here.
There are a variety of sweets you may try here, mainly of turkish origin. The personnel is kind and welcoming.
You may sit on a terrace or inside.
One downside was the football stream on TV, as this place is intended for families, and I'm not sure how interesting that will be for them.
Prices are average, considering the place is located in the heart of the city...
