Manqal Old — Restaurant in Baku City

I had dinner twice at Old Mangal Restaurant during my stay in Baku, and both experiences were excellent. This authentic Turkish restaurant serves a wide variety of halal dishes — and no alcohol is served, which makes it perfect for families and those looking for a respectful dining atmosphere.

The food is very tasty, and they serve exceptional kebabs — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. From the rich starters, fresh salads, and main courses to fresh juices, soft drinks, and delicious desserts, everything was of high quality.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable.

Prices are slightly expensive, but worth it for the quality, variety, and service.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant. The kebabs were juicy and packed with delicious flavors. However, I noticed that each time I ordered plav, I received the same dish, which was a bit disappointing.

The drink, which I believe is called compat or campot (apologies for not being sure about the correct pronunciation), was incredibly tasty and had a soothing quality that brought a sense of tranquility.

What truly impressed me was the honesty of the staff. Despite having the opportunity, they chose not to scam me. The waiter honestly explained the menu, which was a refreshing change from my unfortunate encounter at Çay Bağı 145 restaurant, where I was scammed for...

Avoid this restaurant in Old Town . Waiters are indifferent and inattentive. The one we had didn’t even smile. Food was relatively expensive and too salty . After ordering we asked whether they accepted credit cards and the answer was no . I saw the credit card machine near the cash register . I asked the manager whether we could pay by credit card as we were leaving the next day and he said ok .when it was time to pay the machine didn’t work . Eventually I was escorted to a nearby ATM to withdraw cash . I paid waiter and he said he didn’t have a change
