Review of Dolma
The quality of food and tea at Dolma is excellent. The Azuri tea was authentic and refreshing. The interiors are charming, but the space feels cramped with tables too close to each other. The speed of service for food is notably poor, taking at least 20 minutes for anything to arrive. They could have at least brought the mushrooms we’d ordered earlier as an appetizer, but they came out with the pilaf rice and the mushrooms together instead.
That said, the pilaf rice was delicious. The buttery crisp flatbread combined with the buttery rice and meat was perfect. However, it was difficult to get the waiter's attention due to the restaurant's layout. There are different rooms along a stretch that the waiters walk along, so it’s better to get a table closer to the walking gallery rather than at the back of the room.
Additionally, I recommend avoiding Friday nights if you prefer a quieter dining experience. We were seated next to a noisy group that significantly detracted from our enjoyment. Overall, while the food and tea are excellent, improvements in service speed and seating arrangements would greatly enhance the...
Read moreBestowing a commendable 4.5 out of 5 stars upon Dolma restaurant in Baku, my culinary journey was a tapestry of delightful flavors and warm hospitality. The Fried Mushrooms and Chicken with Turmeric and Potatoes, chosen as the main course, presented a symphony of tastes that left a lasting impression. The appetizer, in particular, showcased culinary finesse with a perfect balance of textures and flavors.
The staff at Dolma played a pivotal role in enhancing the overall dining experience. Their niceness and friendliness created a welcoming atmosphere, adding a personal touch to the meal. The attentive service further contributed to the positive ambiance, making it a noteworthy dining destination.
While the experience was truly exceptional, a fractional room for enhancement prevented a perfect score. Nonetheless, Dolma in Baku comes highly recommended for those seeking a gastronomic adventure enriched with delicious starters, impeccable mains, and amiable service. It stands as a testament to the city's culinary offerings and is worthy of exploration by both locals and visitors alike.
I definitely recommend it if you are...
Read moreWent to Dolma on Sunday with family* (vacation). Upon going downstairs to the entrance, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness. After entering the restaurant, every staff member visible greeted us warmly and then we were seated. The couch style chairs we low, but when we asked for alternative seating arrangements, the staff put together a makeshift table and seats, without hesitation, that suited us perfectly. We were attended to with Michelin Rated Service throughout our visit at this beautiful restaurant. Our primary server was Fariz, Who was superior and genuine in service, but all of the supporting staff were on top of their game.
Food was excellent and memorable. We had the Lamb Pilov (can feed 4-5 adults) - everything cooked to perfection (rice, dates, apricots, chestnuts, lamb and pastry); Sturgeon and Side of Rice, Chicken Kurma, Kepab, Drinks, etc. Lovely experience with perfect prices for tourists and locals alike. *Very suitable for the pickiest child! When in Baku, eat here for perfectly tempered and traditional...
